Short and sweet, but still beautifully choreographed. This story of a bathroom saviour is one that a fair few of us can relate to.
Dottie James is known for her poetic prowess. She has the ability to craft beautiful and often emotion-ridden work that leaves viewers with the sense that she herself knows exactly what they’re going through and can relate.
It’s a unique talent and not one a lot of us can harness, and it makes for some of the most poignant and beautiful poetry we’ve ever heard.
In the video to accompany her latest piece, Dottie, along with Paige Stevens and Mady Miles, presents her take of adoration which took place in a coffee shop toilet of all places.
I met God in the bathroom of a coffee shop,
She handed me loo roll under the cubicle,
And gave me the beauty of her humming quietly,
At her reflection,
So as not to hear me wee.
And had the courtesy to leave,
When I opened the cubicle door,
I caught sight of only her shoulders.
She has lovely shoulders.
If you only have a minute to spare and want a piece of poetry that will make you relax and smile, this video should be your go-to. The choreography leaves you feeling a specific state of serenity that can only be likened to the last time you met God in a coffee shop bathroom.
We don’t know how Dottie does it, but we’re glad she opts to share her talent with her followers. We don’t know what we would do without her poems and unique view of the world.
