Gabbie Hanna has shared her belief that her YouTube channel has been blacklisted by YouTube.
Gabbie spoke about the issue on a recent live stream, which was later posted to her YouTube channel. In it, she states that ‘likes’ were disappearing from her videos and that her channel was not appearing when fans searched for her name. As well, subscribers are not receiving notifications for new content when she posts on YouTube, and tags were also removed from positive videos made about her.
Gabbie also stated during the live stream that she was not someone “who mentioned other people’s names publicly” and that she “ignored what others were saying about [her] because it was not true”.
Gabbie addressed the issue on Twitter, saying: “i have 6 yrs of content. videos with tens of millions of views. music videos. a podcast. viral vines. countless collars & interviews on other channels. but when u watch me or search me, one of the top recommended videos is a month old hate video w/ 75k views. okay! makes sense.”
She went on to say that the issue has been ongoing, and that she had pleaded with YouTube to “release [her] from whatever prison they put [her] in based on false accusations”.

However, Gabbie says hate videos about her have been popping up for a while, with people using them to spread misinformation about her. She no longer feels like she can stay silent on the issue, and she claims YouTube have had a hand in this by not only banning her content from their algorithm, but by not suppressing the negative videos made about her either.
Other creators have since come forward, stating that it has happened to them too. Fans also came out in support of Gabbie, saying YouTube needs to fix the problem.
Alexys Fleming tweeted her support for Gabbie, stating that she’s had it happen to her, where people “sub to me and then get unsubbed immediately”.
“[It’s] really sad that people who want to be a part of my sub community get removed, especially since we have been family friendly for 8 years. I’ve had it happen in front of me,” she says.
A viewer posted screenshots of their watch history, asking YouTube to explain why only some of Gabbie’s videos appeared, despite them having watched them hundreds of times.
Wild to imagine that @YouTube would punish creators for wanting to make up the financial support that they stripped away from us in the first place… but wouldn’t be surprised. Has any other creator noticed a drop in views after mentioning @Patreon? @ytcreators https://t.co/wRB9QdskvY

Emma Blackery also shared her opinion on the matter, after Gabbie stated she was ostracised for promoting her Patreon, saying it was “wild to imagine that YouTube would punish creators for wanting to make up the financial support that they stripped away from us in the first place… but wouldn’t be surprised. Has any other creator noticed a drop in views after mentioning @Patreon?”
