A host of new scripted and documentary series are slated to appear on Snapchat.
The social media app made the announcement during its annual Snap Partner Summit, revealing that it would be rolling out the new content toward the end of this year and throughout the beginning of 2021.
Included in the announcement is news that Snapchat has expanded its multi-year deals with ESPN, Disney, the NFL and NBA, NBCUniversal and Viacom, meaning content from the companies will continue to appear on the app’s ‘Discover’ tab.
The Snap Originals series will see the introduction of shows from the likes of Kevin Hart, director Catherine Hardwicke and Anthony Anderson, with some utilsing AR technology to let viewers directly participate in the shows they’re watching.
The new shows slated to premiere include Coach Kev, Fake Up, Move It, Action Royale, Frogtown and Total Badass Wrestling. Another new show expected to premiere is Road Trippin’, which will feature influencers Rickey Thompson and Denzel Dion.
Numerous Snap Originals have also been renewed, including Nikita Dragun‘s Nikita Unfiltered, Dead of Night, Face Forward and Vs The World.
News of the original series follows a host of other announcements to come from this year’s Snap Partner Summit, including word that Snapchat would be partnering with Zynga to create more exclusive games for the app.
