What’s the one thing you miss the most from pre-COVID life?
Is it seeing your favourite bands live, or getting to freely eat at the restaurants of your choice? Do you miss getting to go to work everyday, or do you miss the simple things, such as getting to spend time with friends and family? Whatever it is that you miss, know that your feelings are valid and that many across the country are feeling the exact same way. We know the past few months have been difficult – and that things continue to be so – but we’re resilient and will get through this. We just have to be patient and try to keep a positive mindset.
One thing we’re finding that helps us keep our spirits up is to do small tasks that give us some satisfaction. Whether its taking a shower or watching the latest episode of our favourite series, we’re looking for the good in even the most menial and normal of everyday tasks, and we’re finding it’s helping us out a lot. Another task that’s helping? Writing articles! It may seem like work to some, but for us, it’s helping to keep us motivated. That’s one of the reasons why we’re continuing to go full throttle here at TenEighty, and we hope you’re liking what we’re dishing out!
Without further ado, here’s the latest edition of Tweets of the Week!
The avocado saga
Fuck I just cut my finger and I see some guts coming out I need stitches
— Ethan Dolan (@EthanDolan) May 23, 2020
I need stitches because I cut my finger with a knife while making avocado toast… I really memed myself huh😑
— Ethan Dolan (@EthanDolan) May 23, 2020
We good! All stitched up and fuck yea I ate the avocado toast pic.twitter.com/TwllyJqhG1
— Ethan Dolan (@EthanDolan) May 23, 2020
ICYMI: Ethan Dolan somehow managed to cut his finger when cutting an avocado and took Twitter along for the ride as he realised it was so bad that he needed to get stitches. We know we should have been worried, but the whole time we were wondering if he still ate the avocado toast! We’re glad he answered that for us.
It’s creative!
I like how Apple’s screen time measurement app thinks that TikTok is “Creativity” lolol. pic.twitter.com/zHmwW8Cczn
— Hank Green (@hankgreen) May 24, 2020
What are you saying, Hank Green? TikTok is the definition of creativity!
So adorbz
you know how sometimes you take a thousand pics of your pet bc they are being the cutest ever and then you look back on them and are like yep love these pics still the cutest!!
— Hannah Hart (@harto) May 19, 2020
What’s the point in having pets if you don’t take thousands of pictures of them a day, Hannah Hart?
How did Cats come to be?
Look.
I know I troll about Cats a lot.
But I would honestly pay untold sums to travel back in time to watch Tom Hooper earnestly direct people how to be more cat-like. https://t.co/ThEJuXjugI
— Zach Kornfeld (@korndiddy) May 24, 2020
We often find ourselves wishing we could forget that the Cats movie exists, but Zach Kornfeld has us intrigued. Just what exactly was going through Tom Hooper’s head while he was directing it?
We miss concerts so much
After COVID-19 the first gig I attend I am taking the barrier home with me, idc I miss that barrier so much.
— 𝖊𝖒𝖔 𝖒𝖔𝖒 (@YasmineSumman) May 24, 2020
Way to remind us of how much we miss concerts, Yasmine Summan. We can’t wait until we’re able to be in a concert hall again, watching our favourite bands!
Uhh…
My bladder when I take a sip of water pic.twitter.com/AzuBrGw9Ab
— Jacob Trueman (@TheJacobTrueman) May 23, 2020
Way too much information, Jacob Trueman.
A milestone
it’s almost been a year since i made my first tiktok
— charli d’amelio (@charlidamelio) May 22, 2020
How has it already been a year since the Queen of TikTok herself, Charli D’Amelio, uploaded her first video? Time sure does fly when you’re having fun!
#Relatable
felt cute might jump to the worst conclusion possible and worry about it for hours
— Joey Graceffa (@JoeyGraceffa) May 25, 2020
Did you enter our brain and steal this tweet from it, Joey Graceffa?
THE WORST
There is a bug somewhere in my bedroom, I can hear it bouncing around and have been able to for the last 24 hours but I can not find out where this bug is and it’s driving me crazy😡😡
— Sophie Foster ✨ (@Sophie_FosterXx) May 22, 2020
Ugh, we HATE when this happens, Sophie Foster. We already don’t like bugs to begin with, but it gets 10 times worse when we can hear them, but can’t find them! It pretty much guarantees a night of no sleep because we’re scared of them flying into our mouths during the night.
Knees are not acceptable
Lockdown File #2890: Suddenly declaring knees are weird in a Facetime call.
— Gary C (@oohgaryc) May 23, 2020
We’d have to agree, Gary C. Other body parts that are weird in FaceTime calls: feet, ankles, the nape of the neck and your armpit.
So there you have it…
Our favourite YouTuber tweets from the past week! Despite being stuck at home, our faves still managed to get up to some trouble, and we love that they shared all the (sometimes gory) details with us! Here’s hoping they get up to even more high jinks over the next seven days.
