The finale aired on James’ YouTube channel on 15 May.
Ashley Strong has won the first season of James Charles‘ new online reality competition, Instant Influencer.
The show, which ran for four episodes during its first season and was produced with YouTube Originals, saw six contestants vying to be crowned the title of Instant Influencer. Along with the win, they would receive $50,000, the opportunity to collaborate with James on his channel, and a $10,000 lighting and videography package.
The three contestants to make it to the season finale were Ashley, Benny Cerra and Kailin Chase. The trio had to each come up with a makeup look to not only impress James, but also two other judges: President of Anastasia Beverly Hills, Norvina, and celebrity makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic.

While the judges were impressed with all three makeup looks, Ashley was ultimately crowned the winner with her look, which was inspired by the concept of “stripping down fashion” to just its labels.
Discussing the look, James said: “I want to commend you on this photo composition because I think it is super, super cool. This is definitely something I would want to recreate for my Instagram.”
“I think the look is absolutely beautiful and I think it could be very easily replicated, and I think that is the key here,” Norvina shared.
Finally, Mario commented on how modern the look seemed, stating: “I love this whole idea and I love this whole concept. It’s really fashion-forward. It’s very editorial.”
