Happy Mother’s Day!
Across the world, many are taking time out of their busy schedules to celebrate the people who have been with us through thick and thin: mothers. We here in the UK did that a few months ago, but as we were on hiatus back in March, we thought we’d write up a Mother’s Day-themed article now! There were so many loving tweets filling our Twitter timeline this past Sunday that it would have been a shame to not spotlight a few of the ones that made our hearts warm.
Given many of us are still under lockdown due to coronavirus, Mother’s Day was celebrated a little differently than it has been in years past. In-person celebrations were replaced with Zoom and FaceTime calls. Delicious meals were replaced with invites to the best of dinners once we’re allowed to get together. Adorable and (sometimes) cringey family photos were shared online, as opposed to in-person.
Despite the restrictions, many of our faves still took the time out to share their love for their mums. Here are just a few of their shoutouts to their loving mums!

You may not have grown up to have any magical powers, but that doesn’t mean you’re not magic, Shane Dawson – and we’re sure your mum would agree!
We’ll hopefully see you soon
Happy Mother's Day to my awesome mum. She was supposed to be here in the UK visiting me but the covid craziness put a block on that 😔
Ah well, thankfully both my folks are in good health and are staying safe. So, I can wait a little longer for a visit. 🤗 #MothersDay pic.twitter.com/kC9X24fQM4

We know you’ll get to see your parents soon, Kathryn Swan! It’ll be worth the wait!
Love to all caretakers!
happy mother’s day to any & all who rise to the challenge of raising & loving those in need, regardless of blood relation 🌷
— tyler oakley (@tyleroakley) May 10, 2020
Preach, Tyler Oakley! Mother’s Day isn’t just for the mothers who are related to us by blood. Anyone who has ever stepped up and offered us love and support needs to be celebrated today.
Saving the human race
Happy Mother’s Day moms
You deserve to have a nice, relaxing day. Thank you for being awesome and also for maintaining the human race by giving birth. Without you we’d be extinct <3
— Ethan Dolan (@EthanDolan) May 10, 2020
Ethan Dolan‘s right! Thank you to all the mums for helping to maintain the human race, even though the result is having to deal with annoying children for at least 18 years.
(Basically, thank you for putting up with us. We’re surprised you didn’t kick us out of the house those times we knocked down the TV and accidentally put a hole through the wall.)
Happy Mother’s Day! I’ve just laid my eggs, so you can expect your new Mum to wash up onto the shores in about a week. Be sure to be there before so she wakes up to your scent, otherwise she will roam the shores aimless and will just keep screaming. We had that a lot last year.

We’re not quite sure that’s how it works, Dean Dobbs…
Happy first Mother’s Day!

Appreciate and share the love
During these difficult times, it’s more important than ever that we enjoy and appreciate the special people in our lives. Happy Mother’s Day to all the great moms out there – especially my own amazing mom!! 💕💐
— Eugenia Cooney (@Eugenia_Cooney) May 10, 2020
We couldn’t agree more with this sentiment from Eugenia Cooney. During this time, it’s important to let those around us know we love them and appreciate all they do.
Our mums are purrfect
— Simon's Cat (@SimonsCat) May 10, 2020
Sure, they might embarrass sometimes by trying to fix our clothing and hair whilst in public, but we know our mums are only doing it because they care.
A little roast to toast the occasion

So there you have it…
How some of our faves celebrated their mums this Mother’s Day. We know it’s a hard time for everyone, as we largely weren’t able to gather in celebration of the day, but know it’s for the greater good, and we’ll come together for a big bonanza as soon as we’re able to!
