Happy belated Mother’s Day to all the badass mums out there!
While many of us might not have been able to celebrate it in person with our families, we hope our mothers know just how much we love and appreciate them. They’ve helped make us who we are today, and we don’t know where we’d be without them. They continually encourage us to strive for our dreams and take on the impossible, and while we might not always show it, we adore them. We promise we’ll celebrate once things go back to normal. (Whenever that is.)
You’re probably wondering, how are we going to segue from a paragraph about Mother’s Day to one about Twitter. Well, to be honest, we hadn’t thought that far ahead. We thought we’d just start writing and see what happened… And, obviously, that didn’t turn out so well. So, before we make a bigger fool out of ourselves, how about we jump right into this edition of Tweets of the Week!
We love… Running?
Never thought these words would be put out there onto my Twitter but I’ve actually started to… really enjoy running…. like??? Who have I become? Can’t work out if it’s because I have nothing better to be doing or if I actually enjoy it
— M O L L Y ✨ (@beauty_spectrum) May 9, 2020
You’re not the only one to suddenly love running, Molly Thompson. This is a surprising (and ultimately very healthy) side-effect to come out of the COVID-19 lockdown. Hopefully, we can keep that momentum going once everything goes back to normal.
Is this the mid-2000s?
fuck zoom, hop on windows live messenger *nudge* 👊
— little al (@ImAllexx) May 8, 2020
We’d totally be down for bringing back Windows Live Messenger, Alex Elmslie! Those were WILD times, let us tell you. (And by “wild”, we mean we were those cool kids who would continue to nudge our friends until we were ultimately blocked.)
Sorry, grandma…
Oh my god. I thought I sent my family (grandma included) a photo of a Shetland pony today. Wrong!
It was an accidental video after I thought I took a picture of it, saying “his peen is out – for a little pony… he’s got a big dong” and I’m crying rn. 😂☠️
I’m sorry grandma.

OMG, Cherry Wallis! We can’t even with this tweet. What was her response?!
Cats are too good for us
not to be dramatic but I’d sell my soul for u pic.twitter.com/kIvDTLDvMw
— bianca 🍑 (@itsbinkybee) May 7, 2020
We appreciate a good cat tweet. Best be careful, Bianca Oliveira, lest we sneak into your house and steal him. (We totally wouldn’t to that or anything… Actually, yes, we would.)
We just want to see the doggo!
In case you’re wondering me and my boyfriend are arguing because he won’t send me a picture of his dog
I’m single from now on-
— 𝖊𝖒𝖔 𝖒𝖔𝖒 (@YasmineSumman) May 8, 2020
We wouldn’t blame you for breaking up with him, Yasmine Summan. Sending each other pictures of your pets is like one of the key rules in every relationship and he is breaking it!
What exactly was that announcement yesterday?
— Hannah Witton (@hannahwitton) May 10, 2020
The majority of us are still pretty confused about Boris Johnston’s speech last night, but if you don’t laugh and make jokes, all you’ll do is cry. Thank you, Hannah Witton, for helping to cheer us up with this meme.
That unholy number
I have been waiting for this unholy moment 😈😈😈😈😈 pic.twitter.com/BOZr8109uE

We mean, we always knew you were the devil, Roly West. This just proves it.
Sharpay all the way
we were LIED to as kids. think about employability! you really think a company would hire a flake like Gabriella Montez over Sharpay Evans?!
please, Gabriella wouldn't last 5 mins in corporate America. Sharpay would bring big 'per my last email' energy into the office.
— Luke Birch (@LukeBirch_) May 6, 2020
The High School Musical movies did Sharpay dirty – she deserved SO much better! We’re glad you agree, Luke Birch.
PICK. A. NEW. SONG.
Hey everyone, I've just had to make a pretty tough decision and I apologise in advance to everyone this is going to negatively affect but… if your wedding in any way featured the song "Marry You" by Bruno Mars, I have personally sought out and revoked your marriage license 😔
— Thomas ‘TomSka’ Ridgewell 🥵 (@thetomska) May 7, 2020
We 100% support Tom Ridgewell in enacting this policy. Might we also suggest a similar one for those who still choose to play Ed Sheeran’s Perfect as their wedding song?
SUCH bops!
Phineas and Ferb created some absolute bops but I don’t think we’re ready to have that conversation
— Jack Edwards (@jackbenedwards) May 10, 2020
Speaking of music, we have to agree with Jack Edwards in that the music from Phineas and Ferb helped shape a generation – and we need to have that conversation! Remember that song about aglets? CLASSIC.
So there you have it…
Our favourite YouTuber tweets from the past week! It was definitely one with many ups and downs, especially after the Prime Minister’s speech on Sunday, but hopefully this week will be better. If not, at least we’ll have our faves to help keep us entertained.
