The live streaming platform is currently soliciting pitches for its planned original shows.
According to Bloomberg, Twitch is reportedly working to commission unscripted, interactive original content that would air on its site two to three times a week.
The shows, which would air live, would preferably be in the genres of game shows, sports, talk shows, music and dating shows.
With a plan to spend between $50,000 and $250,000 a week on the series, the site is currently soliciting pitches that would be able to fill four to 10 hours of content space a week.
As well, the content needs to appeal to two key demographics, those being male gaming enthusiasts between the ages of 18 and 24, and anyone within the same age range who is interested in “general entertainment”.
In the documents obtained by Bloomberg, Twitch is reported as saying:
“We are seeking creative partners to help us set a new bar for multiplayer entertainment.”
It’s currently unknown when the new series will debut on the site.
