The new sticker is currently in development.
Twitter user Jane Manchun Wong, who is known for reverse-engineering the coding of various apps in order to uncover new and upcoming features, has shared that Instagram looks to be developing a new sticker.
Instagram stickers are available via the Stories feature on the app. The new one will prompt those watching another’s story to privately direct message (or DM) the user by tapping on it.

While there is no word on a possible release date for the sticker, Wong’s find caused a stir on Twitter, with users expressing mixed reactions.
One commented on the fact the “DM Me” sticker resembles an already existing one, saying: “I’m having a hard time understanding the practicality of this feature since you can already reply to stories with the ‘send message’ sticker.”
Another one brought up the potential for bots to take advantage of the sticker by spamming those who place it in their Stories.
As of publishing, Instagram has not commented on the discovery.
