The fundraiser is being run in the hopes of raising money and awareness for the charity.
Eve Bennett announced the fundraiser for Mind UK on 28 December 2019 via an update video that was uploaded to her YouTube channel.
Both in the video and through the donation page, Eve shares the struggles she had in regards to her mental health in 2019. It’s these struggles that led to her launching the fundraiser, in conjunction with her birthday, “[Last] year was a really difficult one for me in terms of my mental health. I was really lucky that I had access to so many resources to help me – others cannot say the same. That’s why for New Year/my 20th birthday, I wanted to do a fundraiser to help gather together funds for Mind UK, the UK’s leading mental health charity.”
Mind UK is a mental health-focused organisation, providing support to over five million people across England and Wales. Eve expressed her gratitude for the charity, saying, “It is a charity that is really close to my heart, and it would really, really mean the world to me if you guys could donate.” Anther YouTuber who has worked to raise funds for Mind UK in the past is Zoe Sugg, who is a digital ambassador.
“I really hope you will rally behind me, and together we can make a sizeable donation to the charity and, with it, a sizeable impact,” Eve writes.
As it stands, Eve and her viewers have collectively raised £2195. Those wishing to donate to the fundraiser can do so by visiting the official GoFundMe page. As well, the ad revenue from the update video will also be added to the total amount raised.
