It’s the TV show we never knew we needed…
In this week’s edition of The Sidemen Doing Things, the boys reimagine the popular gameshow format – but are totally not ripping-off – ITV’s The Chase. Cue the dramatic music.
Stick with us, this one gets interesting. If you’ve ever wanted to know how many teeth an adult human has or what a Spermologer collects (no really) then you’re in for a treat. And as it turns out, the Sidemen are not just pretty faces.
Similarly to the TV show, each competing team member has one minute to answer as many questions correctly before going head to head with the chaser. But this is no ordinary chaser. Step aside the Beast, they’ve got a velvet coat-wearing Vik Barn. You couldn’t make this stuff up.
Show host Tobi ‘Tobjizzle’ Brown makes a nice change from Bradley Walsh and honestly, we think he’d do well in the televised version of the show. He’d keep us fairly entertained at 6pm on a weekday.
Without giving too much away, Josh ‘Zerkaa’ Bradley, Harry ‘Wroetoshaw’ Lewis and Simon Minter outdo expectations. They are clearly no stranger to a pub quiz, or playing the HQ app.
However Ethan ‘Behzinga’ Payne and Olajide ‘KSI’ Olatunji aren’t so lucky and some of their answers… wow.
Contestants aside, the no-expenses-spared set comes complete with buzzers, a Chase board and some kind of strange lifeguard chair that Vik barely manages to hoist himself into at the start of the show. It also looks like someone forgot to give Harry the memo about wearing all black. Overall the whole setup makes for an entertaining hour of trivia, random facts and shameless promotion of Sidemen merch. Obviously.
