The masterclass will feature a host of professionals from within the publishing industry.
Melanie Murphy has announce she’ll be joining the So you want to write a book? publishing masterclass being hosted by non-fiction author Caroline Foran and fiction author Louise O’Neill.
The masterclass will feature a panel of literary experts, book publicists, editorial directors and booksellers, and will cover “everything from getting the attention of publishers to writing the perfect proposal, the writing process itself and the realities of publishing in Ireland and internationally”. It will also teach attendees about advances and royalties, what’s involved in making a book successful and what editors are looking for in their authors.
Melanie, in particular, will be discussing her experience in moving from non-fiction to fiction writing, and will share her creative experience, details surrounding the pitching process and more.
Along with a panel discussion, there will also be a Q&A session, where those in attendance can ask any questions they might have in regards to the writing and publishing worlds.
The masterclass is set to occur on 20 July from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Alex Hotel in Dublin. Tickets €37.32 and include refreshments and a writer goodie bag.
Those wishing to purchase tickets can do so via the masterclass’ Eventbrite page.
