YouTuber and author Melanie Murphy was featured in a state exam taken by students in Ireland on 5 June.
An extract from Melanie’s first non-fiction book Fully Functioning Human (Almost) was included in the Ordinary Level English Paper 1 exam which is taken as part of the Leaving Certificate Examinations by students in Ireland.
The Leaving Certificate is the equivalent of A-Levels in the UK.
A passage from Melanie’s book was featured as reading comprehension in the exam and students were asked to answer questions on it. Two composition questions were also based on the passage taken from the book.
Melanie shared her thoughts of the news on Twitter:

This came the day before the release of her debut novel If Only which Melanie has described as being “contemporary fiction with a sprinkle of magic”.
