YouTube Rewind 2018 will be released on Thursday 6 December.
YouTube has shared a teaser video ahead of the release of YouTube Rewind 2018, its annual year in review.
The eighth YouTube Rewind video will debut on Thursday 6 December at 6pm GMT.
It will feature references to videos, people, music and moments that were popular on the platform in the year. YouTubers already confirmed for the 2018 video include Caspar Lee, Elle Mills, Emma Chamberlain, Liza Koshy, Merrell Twins, The Try Guys, Rosanna Pansino, LaurDIY, Gabbie Hanna, Nikkie Tutorials, Molly Burke, Marques Brownlee, Lachlan, ASAP Science, Luzugames and Collins Key.
“It’s almost time to hit Rewind”, the teaser description on YouTube reads.
The teaser shows a Fortnite Battle Bus and giant tin foil ball among other references. Other trends thought to be included this year include Baby Shark and dabbing, according to the official YouTube Rewind Instagram.
In 2017, YouTube Rewind: The Shape of 2017 featured 300 creators and celebrities from nearly 20 countries. UK creators featured last year included Dan Howell, Phil Lester, Emma Blackery, Caspar Lee, Joe Sugg, SORTEDfood, Saffron Barker, Daniel ‘TDM’ Middleton, Olajide ‘KSI’ Olatunji, Tom Ridgewell, Connie Glynn, Oli White, and Josh Pieters.
International YouTubers who featured last year included Lilly Singh, Philip DeFranco, Casey Neistat, Ethan and Grayson Dolan, and Liza Koshy. Viral stars Big Shaq, Hurt Bae, Backpack Kid, Niana, and Tatiana Subbotina also featured, alongside celebrities including Stephen Colbert, Les Twins, Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Ozuna.
Popular moments and trends that featured in the 2017 video included April the Giraffe giving birth, the “floor is lava” game, fidget spinners, children interrupting a BBC News interview, slime videos, and the Shooting Stars meme.
