Toronto, we love you.
This week has seen the conclusion of the world-famous Toronto International Film Festival, which is home to the biggest and best films that the public will get to see in the near future. 2018 has brought us such behemoths as:
- High Life, directed by Claire Denis, starring Robert Pattinson.
- First Man, directed by Damien Chazelle, starring Ryan Gosling.
- Roma, directed by Alfonso Cuaron, starring Yalitza Aparicio. (Will be on Netflix!)
- If Beale Street Could Talk, directed by Barry Jenkins, starring Stephen James.
- Widows, directed by Steve McQueen, starring Viola Davis.
A tiff of the hat to all films that were part of proceedings and we can’t wait to see them all in the coming months!
On with the Round-Up!
Moving Into My New London Flat! | Hannah Witton
After what seems like forever, Hannah Witton has taken a huge step in her life. She has officially bought her own flat and has now moved in!
This is a vlog, showing us the process of moving all sorts of stuff into her and her boyfriend’s new abode. For all the people still living with parents, this is one full of jealousy! It looks lovely and we can’t wait for a house tour!
My Face Story | Rose and Rosie
This is one of those thumbnails that kind of tells you what you need to know. An unfortunate illness manifested itself into a blotchy rash. This storytime from Rose Dix and Rosie Spaughton is both hilarious and terrifying in equal measure. Everyone who watches this video should be reminded to go to the doctors if you get boils all over your body. That’s something to talk to your GP about.
Don’t Waste Your Coin! 5 Gadgets That All Students Need! (and need to avoid) | Ibrahim Mohammed
The new school year is fast approaching which means that your supplies need a refresh. Ibrahim Mohammad is here with a rundown of stuff that may or may not need for the coming year. He gives you an idea of what he himself has got, while talking about the reasons behind his purchases. This, in turn, will help everyone when they are looking themselves.
Also, shoutout to the Wii music in the background!
My Botched Surgery | Gabriella Lindley
In this Q&A, Gabriella Lindley gives us the lowdown on a number of topics. She talks us through things such as living with other people instead of living alone. A fascinating insight that gives her audience answers to questions that they have wanted to know for a long time. Gabriella’s vulnerability in speaking about her insecurities is something that sets her apart from a large number of her contemporaries.
Big Fat Monster | Tom Ridgewell
Do you think that you are super self-deprecating about facets of yourselves that might not like? Well Tom Ridgewell is here to trump us all with a whole bloody sketch about his weight gain. As we’re used to by now, it is hilariously written. With performances from Reb Day and Jack Howard alongside Tom, it is a video that can’t be missed!
Want more?
For the uninitiated, Talia Mar is in a relationship with Simon Minter. In this video, it starts as a “Most Likely To” and then takes a turn into a relationship test. There is some tension in some of the answers including the very first one, which would be a big one for any couple. It’s always interesting to see how people answer these questions and this video is no different.
Roksana Janiszewksa has been on a bit of roll recently, changing herself into various celebrities such as Kylie Jenner and Ariana Grande. This time around, she is doing it again with the big one, the Holy Grail herself, Kim Kardashian-West. There’s new hair, there’s new clothes. It is a whole, big undertaking that gives us great results in the end.
Samantha Harvey is back with another cover, this time of a Kodaline song. The One is a song that is in many people’s favourite songs ever. Samantha brings a level of emotion that is needed to make the song connect with the audience. Her covers are always great and this one is no different.
Carrie Hope Fletcher is currently starring in the smash hit West-End musical, Heathers. This latest video shows us an insight into life in the West End. As she says in the video, her dressing room is “a bit of alright”, which we’re not going to lie is a massive understatement. We’re incredibly jealous of all the success and we can’t wait to watch the show!
