Rest in Peace, Mac Miller.
For fans of rap music, this week brought a passing that was a big shock, with Mac Miller dying at the age of 26. He was a rap artist who bridged the gap between the old school and the new, with fellow musicians, such as Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar, giving him his props throughout his career and now even more so in death. He was someone who touched a lot of lives with his work and he will be dearly missed. We’re sure we weren’t the only ones listening to his latest album, Swimming, over the weekend.
On with the Round-up.
Like I Did (Official Music Video) | Leadley
NEW MUSIC ALERT! Leadley is back with a bang(er)!
Bethan Leadley – A.K.A. Leadley – has blessed us with Like I Did, a pop song for the ages. Wonderful production and great vocals come together to create something of an earworm. The accompanying music video is full of colour and sexiness, the perfect vibe for this one.
You can bet this video has been on repeat all week and we can’t wait for more to add to our playlist!
The Insanity of Coronation Street | Video Essay | Full Fat Videos
Soaps hold a special place in the hearts of a large portion of people here in the UK, whether it’s Emmerdale, Eastenders or Hollyoaks. The melodrama and “interesting” acting choices mean that a lot of what happens on screen can seem frankly ridiculous when you look at it as an overarching narrative.
Full Fat Videos have chosen to do that with one of the longest running soaps in the world, Coronation Street. They lay it out to show us all just how crazy it all is and really question why soaps choose to try and adhere to any sense of realism.
It’s a fascinating video.
1 Hour Band – You Want My Sister (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) | ThatcherJoe
In a week that saw Joe Sugg becoming the first online personality to grace the stage of Strictly Come Dancing, he shows us another one of his talents – this boy has some pipes!
Joe, Conor Maynard and Byron Langley gave themselves one hour to create a song from the ground up. Using a genre and topic they picked out of two hats, they create something that may even take Zoe Sugg by surprise.
1990s McDonald’s Didn’t Know What the Internet Was (My Very Own Company) | Fact Fiend – With Karl Smallwood
We all know people who don’t understand the internet and are always asking, “What’s the point?” Grandparents around the world are all uttering that around the dinner table to groups of people just waiting to be allowed back on their cellphones.
Karl Smallwood is here to tell us about a time in which one of the biggest companies in the history of mankind didn’t know about the internet. The 1990s were wild! Enjoy this one!
Philip Schofield and Kem on Turkish Cologne, Morning Routines and Hair Dye! | Kem Cuts Episode #02 | Kem Cetinay
Kem Cetinay of Love Island fame is in your subscription box with his series, Kem Cuts. After the first episode with Love Island compadre Chris Hughes, he is back with the national treasure that is Philip Schofield. In this video, they talk about if Philip dyes his hair, Kem’s dubious Turkish cologne and much more.
A natural charm is what Kem brings to the screen and it’s great to see someone from the mainstream using YouTube as a platform for showcasing themselves, something that would have been unheard of in years gone by.
Want more? Of course, you do!
Lydia Sidebotham talks to Becca Heath in this video on the beach in Bournemouth. They talk about their love of the town, where they’ve both been at university. They also talk about the previous year, sharing stories about their time together. It’s a lovely video that gives you an insight not only into a friendship, but also into what university can be like.
The new football season has started. With that happening, it means the newest version of football games are making their way to our consoles. The Redmen TV have got their hands on Pro Evolution Soccer 2019. As a Liverpool fan channel, they focus on the club’s players, commenting on just how great they look graphically, amongst many other things. This is a must watch before deciding whether or not to purchase.
The Simpsons have been around for over 25 years and finally, FINALLY they’ve collaborated with ASOS for a capsule collection. It is something that we didn’t know we needed, but Sammy Scott has got her hands on some of the pieces and given us her thoughts on them. We want to buy them all now!
Jordan Lipscombe has shared with us her first ever shoe haul. She’s worked with up-and-coming brand Koi Footwear to showcase some of their unique and interesting pieces. She shows a level of knowledge and insight, which is helpful for anyone on the fence about buying shoes, an essential part of any outfit. We look forward to more videos like this one.
