TOP OF THE MORNING TO YA, LADDIES.
Did you hear the exciting news? Sean McLoughlin – better know as jacksepticeye on YouTube – recently hit 20 million subscribers! Yes, you read right, 20 million. Crazy, right? It seems like only yesterday we were watching his first let’s play videos and now here we are watching him tour the world while somehow balancing a pretty hectic upload schedule. The boy’s got dedication and we love him for it!
To celebrate this milestone, we thought we’d take a look back at some of our all-time favourite jacksepticeye videos. From his humble beginnings with the Happy Wheels series to his hilarious Reading Your Comments videos, they’ve all got a special place in our hearts, and we find ourselves revisiting them time and time again.
Here they are, our Five of the Best: Jacksepticeye Videos!
ALL THE WAY – Songify Remix by Schmoyoho | jacksepticeye
Kicking things off is by far the most popular video on Sean’s channel. Yep, it’s the All The Way song, a collection of all the things that make the jacksepticeye channel what it is.
We have the lovely people at Schmoyoho to thank for this incredibly catchy and infectious track. They took clips from Sean’s videos of Papers, Please and Happy Wheels, autotuned them and set them to some backing music. The result is something we didn’t know we wanted, but are so glad exists. We honestly never knew Sean could be so melodic, especially when mourning the deaths of Steve and Little Potatoman… Well, he didn’t exactly mourn Steve’s death, but you get our point.
Who else knows all the lyrics by heart?
Happy Wheels – Part 100 (GRAND FINALE) | jacksepticeye
The Happy Wheels series on Sean’s channel is one we were once convinced would never end. For years, he was posting videos to it, and it all came to a head with the special one hour grand finale. That’s right, episode 100 was the biggest (literally) and best (also literally) Happy Wheels video yet, and we’ve lost count of the number of times we’ve watched it.
For those of you unaware, Happy Wheels is a game that requires a lot of patience and dedication, things Sean sometimes forgot in his frustration. Dying is a pretty easy and common thing to do, as you’ll see in such episodes as LAUNCH THE KITTENS and TUMBLING BUMBLING STEVE. It features quite a few player-made games, and throughout the series Sean would showcase the odd viewer level, which would always leave us envious of their creativity. Also, who knew secondary school physics would actually come in handy?
The Happy Wheels series has become a fan favourite, and it’s no secret as to why. We loved watching Sean become more confident as a creator throughout, and we’ll never forget the iconic “HAAAAAAAAPPY WHEEEEEEEELS” intro.
SO MUCH HATE | Reading Your Comments #86 | jacksepticeye
Is it just us or are some of your favourite videos on YouTube those where your faves react to comments?
Sean’s been on YouTube for quite a while now, which means he’s received thousands – if not millions – of comments on his videos. Some are incredibly positive and supportive, others… Not so much. Enter in the Reading Your Comments series, where Sean picks out a few of his favourite hate comments and reacts to them. While a lot of his reactions are sarcastic and meant to make his audience laugh, he also manages to balance out the videos with some honest and constructive responses – what a guy!
This series is a good reminder that you should think before you post a hate comment, lest you want Sean to call you out in one of his videos.
MISTAKES WERE MADE | Papers, Please #11 | jacksepticeye
One of the most iconic gaming series on Sean’s channel is without a doubt Papers, Please. We’ve seen many of our favourite gaming YouTubers try their hand at it, but none have made a series as entertaining as Sean’s.
Papers, Please is a game that has the player work at a border checkpoint, where their duty is check the passports and permits of all those entering Grestin. Those who are citizens of Arstotzkan are allowed in, while everyone else must be turned away. You might think that’s simple enough, but as Sean’s series shows, it’s not all that easy to turn people away, especially when they say their lives are in danger if they return to their homeland. There’s also the fact you’re fighting a time limit that only gets harder to follow when you’re given a million different papers.
While his Russian accent could use some work and we feel as if we might start having nightmares if we hear the phrase “no correlation” one more time, we thoroughly enjoyed watching this series. (And Sean’s slow descent into madness whilst playing it.) GLORY TO ARSTOZKA!
KNIFE FIGHTS | Night In The Woods – Part 3 | jacksepticeye
Closing out this very special Five of the Best is probably one of our favourite gaming series on Sean’s channel. No, it isn’t Undertale – although, that one is definitely on our list. We’re talking about Night In The Woods, the seven part series that made us fall in love with a game we never before knew existed.
There are many reasons as to why Sean’s Night In The Woods series is our favourite. The main reason is pretty simple: the artwork is gorgeous. We mean, have you seen the game? It’s. So. Pretty. That is, when you’re not going around stabbing people in the dark. Secondly, we loved how Sean walked us through it. Not only were the voices he put on superb (who else thinks he does a perfect Gregg?), he also got into the game just as much as we did! From chills to getting spooked to having a good time, Sean’s reactions throughout helped make this series what it is.
As with many of his gaming series, there’s a hilarious Jacksepticeye Animated video to go with it. Just be prepared for the millions of clones that inhabit Irish Street…
So there you have it…
Our Five of the Best: Jacksepticeye Videos! We’re not going to lie, this was more a feature of our favourite game series than individual videos, but can you blame us? There are so many awesome videos on Sean’s channel that it’s pretty much near impossible to narrow our favourites down to just five. Congrats, Sean, on 20 million subscribers and here’s to 20 million more!
