“Your voice is significant and you can take on the world.”
The past month saw Muslims around the world fast during the month of Ramadan, which came to an end with a big celebration known as Eid. To mark the occasion in his latest video, Eid Mubarak | An Unusual Eid Message, Nadir Nahdi uses his channel, BENI, to collaborate with others and share his experience while also reminding people of the true meaning behind the celebrations.
The video starts off featuring an element of loneliness, as we hear Nadir’s answering machine tone and people start to share their stories.
We see different people facing difficulties in their lives such as parents dying and families trying to navigate divorce. This is when Nadir says to himself “I’ve been feeling lonely” but quickly adds that “what gets me through the day is that there are other people just like me fighting their own battles.”
The aim of the video is to highlight that everyone is battling their own demons. Regardless of whether you’re a immigrant, a parent, a man, a woman, rich or poor, we all have our own struggles which make up our story.
It is these stories which, according to Nadir, bring us all together as humans. He encourages us to “turn your weaknesses to strength.” He says, “your voice is significant and you can take on the world,” something we at TenEighty wholeheartedly agree with.
The video may have started off a bit dark but rest assured by the end, it will have you wanting to turn your weaknesses to strength. Nadir then starts to close the video with a powerful message: “When the world is against you, you will still be left standing.”
Ending the video with a big Eid Mubarak wish, we cannot think of a more special occasion to spread a powerful message.
