There’s nothing better than the love between siblings.
Sure, we may get into fights every once and a while, but there’s nothing better than having a brother or sister by our side. You know, someone who we know has our back when things get tough and who will support us in all our endeavours. They’re our rocks when life gets a bit crazy and we can guarantee they’ll be our best friends forever. It’s because of this that we felt we needed to celebrate one of our favourite YouTube sibling duos: Melanie Murphy and Jessica Brennan.
Jessica and Melanie are pretty much as tight as any two sisters can be. Not only do they make YouTube videos together (we wish our siblings would do the same), but you can constantly find them hanging out and doing all the things sisters do. These two warm our hearts, so we decided to share some of our favourite moments featuring them, complete with tons of laughs and touching moments.
Here they are, the six time Melanie and Jessica were total sibling goals!
When Jessica pranked Melanie
It’s no secret we love this prank Jessica pulled on Melanie, as we featured it in our recent Five More of the Best: ACTUAL Prank Videos, so, of course, we’d have it lead the article. One of the best thing about having siblings is playing practical jokes of them – we personally wouldn’t have been able to hone our pranking skills if it weren’t for our own – so we were glad to see these two partaking in this classic pastime.
For this prank, Jessica purchased a joke scratch card for Melanie, who was none the wiser to the gag. After scratching a few cards, Melanie grabs the joke card and reveals, through tears, that she’s won £10,000. We’re not going to lie, we started to kind of feel bad when she started crying, but we were glad to how good of a sport she was when Jessica revealed it was a prank. We don’t know if we’d have been so kind – imagine what you could do with £10,000!
We wonder when Melanie will get her revenge…
When they went to Playlist Live together
Earlier this year, both Jessica and Melanie flew across the pond to sunny Orlando for Playlist Live. It was the second time the pair had made the trip together and, from the looks of their tweets and Instagram posts, they had a whirlwind of a time. (And we are totes jealous.)
Not only did they take in all that Playlist has to offer, but they also soaked up some sun, spent a ton of time by the pool and even made a visit to Disney World. We wonder what we have to do for them to invite us along next year… It looks like they had a blast!
Teenage VS Twentysomething
Some of our all-time favourite videos on Melanie’s channel are those under her Teenage VS Twentysomething series, which feature her and Jessica discussing a variety of topics from the perspective of someone who is in their teens and someone who is in their twenties. Nothing (and we mean nothing) is off-limits with this series, with the pair discussing alcohol, sexual education, dating and pretty much everything else under the sun.
We highly suggest giving the series a watch if you’re looking for advice videos that offer more than one perspective.
When Jessica transformed Melanie into herself
One of the best things about having a sister is getting to talk about makeup and test out looks with them, so it was only a matter of time before Jessica transformed Melanie into herself, and the video of said transformation is amazing.
We don’t understand why Jessica was so nervous about doing this, as her makeup skills make ours look juvenile. As each product was added to Melanie’s face, we slowly started to question who was who. The piece to really bring this look together was the hair. Jessica is known for her signature messy ponytail and we were dying to see Melanie with it. Overall, it was a pretty stellar makeover, and we can’t wait for Melanie to try her own transformation on Jessica!
Also, can we point out one thing? Melanie, you don’t look like an egg without makeup. Trust us, we wouldn’t lie to you.
The love they have for each other
What’s the most important thing about the relationship you have with your siblings? Love, of course!
What we’ve noticed most about Jessica and Melanie is they’re never afraid to share how much they love and care for each other. One look at their YouTube channels and social media shows this. From having pride in the videos the other one makes to sharing heartfelt posts on Instagram, these two are a prime example of what sisterly love is, and it warms our hearts to see it.
When they took a trip down memory lane
There’s nothing better than reminiscing with your family. Looking back at past memories and the things you were obsessed with can bring about a wave of nostalgia that’s infectious, and that’s exactly what happened when Melanie and Jessica took a trip down memory lane.
While Melanie is an 80s baby and Jessica is an 90s one, both of them can relate to the same things, from their first phones and how they experienced the Harry Potter series, to their first crushes and how they first used the internet. However, the one nostalgic part of their past to really get these two excited was their discussion of old cartoons. No matter how old you are, everyone can appreciate the awesomeness that are Saturday morning cartoons. However, we question Jessica’s love for the Teletubbies… How could she possibly have watched them without getting annoyed?!

Seriously, we cannot get enough of Melanie and Jessica! Not only are they sisters, but they’re also the best of friends and it shows in everything they do. We can’t wait to see what YouTube-inspired adventures they get up to in the future. Hopefully, they take their cameras, so we can come along for the ride!
