Is there anything better than running a YouTube channel with your sister? We don’t think so!
It’s no secret that we love seeing our fave creators collaborating with their siblings on videos, but it’s rare to see siblings actually running a channel together. That might be why we’re so obsessed with Amelia and Grace Mandeville, better known online as the Mandeville Sisters.
These two are quirky, outgoing, open, and unafraid to push boundaries and test their limits. Their channel, which has over 100,000 subscribers, features every type of video imaginable. Looking for comedy? You’ve got it. Mental health awareness? They’ve shared their stories. Daily and weekly vlogs more your thing? They recently started a vlogging channel. See, they’ve got just about every corner of YouTube covered!
Over the years, we’ve watched as these two have grown up and accomplished their hopes and dreams, and it’s because of this that we thought it was about time we shed some light on a few of our favourite moments in the Mandeville catalogue. So here they are – our seven favourite Mandeville Sisters moments, complete with lots of laughs and sibling banter!
Their pranks
Given that these two share a similar sense of humour, it comes as no surprise that they’ve delved into the prank world and emerged with some of their best content.
The “prank war” began when Grace prank-called Amelia to inform her their channel had been deleted from YouTube. To say Amelia was devastated at the news would be an understatement – thank goodness, it was only a prank. But did you think Amelia would let Grace off without payback? Nope! A few months later, Amelia decided it would be a hilarious idea to call Grace and tell her MTV had decided to let her go and have Amelia present solo… Oh, no!
While they’ve only uploaded a handful of pranks to their channel so far, we love them, and wouldn’t be surprised to see more posted in the future. With all the antics they get up to, they must have a wealth of material to go on!
Their MTV presenting gig
Did you know the Mandeville Sisters were MTV presenters? It’s true! The pair recorded segments for the music station’s MTV International YouTube channel, where they would update viewers on all the important celebrity gossip and news. One thing we learnt during their time with MTV? They find Playboy bunnies to be pretty spooky. Don’t believe us? All the evidence you need is in the above video.
What we loved most about this gig was how in their element the pair seemed to be. They acted so natural in front of the camera and they seemed right at home. It gives us hope that we’ll see them in more hosting gigs in the future!
Lyrical Argument
Regular arguments are boring and often involve no creativity whatsoever. Why not add a bit of spice by engaging in a lyrical argument instead?
Amelia and Grace uploaded the first instalment of their Lyrical Argument series a few years ago and it left us eager for more, so you can bet we were excited to see them upload a second video back in December. Not only do we find the idea incredibly creative, but it also allows us to show our friends how vast our music knowledge is. (Hint: we know A LOT.)
Looking for an activity to do the next time you hang out with your friends? We suggest giving this a try.
When Grace played Holly on The Sparticle Mystery
Grace has done quite a bit of work with CBBC, from presenting roles to appearances on My Dog Ate My Homework, but our favourite role of hers would definitely have to be her portrayal of Holly in The Sparticle Mystery.
For those of you unaware of the series (and how dare you not know of it?!), The Sparticle Mystery takes place in a world where all parents have disappeared, leaving their kids to learn how to live on their own. We loved the show’s premise and it was great to see Grace’s acting skills in action. In fact, we loved it so much that we still revisit the show on the reg.
When they hit 100,000 subscribers
Reaching 100,000 subscribers is a milestone most YouTubers hope to achieve, so you can bet we were over the moon when Grace and Amelia hit it back in 2017.
Given the amount of time and effort the pair put into their videos and vlogs, we knew it was only a matter of time until they hit 100,000. Through their honest and comedic takes on the world, these two have grown a tight-knit and caring community, and we’re glad they have such a supportive following. If there’s any channel that deserves this much success, it’s definitely the Mandeville Sisters.
Amelia’s book
Everyone knows it’s Amelia’s dream to publish a book – and that dream is set to become reality this November, as she’ll be releasing her debut novel!
Amelia shared the news back in February, revealing in the announcement video that it would be called Every Colour of You and published by Little, Brown. We were super excited upon hearing the news, knowing how much time Amelia has dedicated to writing, and it’s nice to see her hard work finally paying off. We can’t begin to tell you how excited we are to read it!
Interested in being part of the book? Well, you’re in luck! Amelia recently launched a competition where fans have the opportunity to name a character!
Chocolate Chatter
There might only be a few episodes of Chocolate Chatter on the sisters’ channel, but that doesn’t mean we don’t love it all the same. A fun series that sees the two eating chocolate and answering questions with a guest, it’s definitely one of our fave series on their channel. Thus far, the series has featured Rebecca Brown and Steven Bridges, and included a variety of chocolates (the After Eights are our all-time faves), some hilarious questions, and some pretty deep conversations, such as the time Amelia delved into the amount of people who live on this planet.
What we love most about this series is how we get to see Amelia and Grace’s personalities shine – you can see how much they’re enjoying this YouTube thing. They’re both so fun and we would love them to invite us on for some chocolate and some chatter.
We doubt you love these two as much as we do.
See, we told you these two were pretty awesome! They always manage to have a good time together, and we’re forever thankful they decided to share their hilarious antics with us. We see them as our own sisters, and we hope they never stop making great YouTube content!
