Can Kylie Jenner tweet about us and get us some of the $1.3 billion she erased from Snapchat’s market price, please?
TenEighty, the Instagram Stories of internet creator news!
This week we’re all about Wakanda – and $700,000,000 in ten days tells us that at least a few of you are there with us. With the watershed cinematic moment that is Black Panther in mind, YouTube should take a leaf out of the Marvel handbook and lean even more into stories from people previously shunned from mainstream media in any real and substantial way. The Creators for Change initiative is a great start, but push on YouTube, do more!
Now, here is the Round-Up for your reading pleasure!
Mr. President | A gun laws slam poem | Angela Innes
America’s gun laws have found themselves in the news once again, for all the wrong reasons. Angela Innes has used the pain and vitriolic language set forth by the defendants of the “right to bear arms” and focussed it back at them with cutting words that show off language as the incredible tool that it is.
This slam poem directly addresses a certain orange leader of the free world, with sound arguments and takedowns that would fly over the head of him and the majority of his Death Eaters. Eloquence is something that is so needed in a time of pointless rhetoric that avoids facts at all costs. Angela, in two minutes and ten seconds, has created a piece of art that will hold itself against the barrage of pro-gunners who don’t seem to value the life of people.
i wrote a song. | Toby Randall
Toby Randall is signed to Jay-Z’s label, Roc Nation. (Yes, THAT Jay-Z.) With a single with DJ Khaled already in the bag, Toby’s been focusing on original music recently, instead of the covers his channel is known for. This song, Grammy Parties, is one of those original pieces.
That Toby wrote this song himself is commendable on its own, but the fact that it happens to be good as well is a bloody great thing. The co-signs from big mainstream musical acts show faith that someone can see the talent that this kid has.
Keep killing it, Toby, and you might find yourself at a Grammy party before you know it.
TRANS AROUND THE WORLD: TRANS TUBERS | TheRealAlexBertie
Alex Bertie has started a new series on his channel called Trans Tubers, which is a self-confessed excuse to do a whole bunch of collaborations with creators from within the trans community. In this video, he enlists the help of creators such as Stef Sanjati to talk about how being trans is different in different countries around the world.
This is a video that will be incredibly helpful for so many different people, and this series is shaping up to do great things.
I DID BLACK PANTHER STUNTS! WAKANDA FOREVER! | Scola Dondo
Throughout Black Panther, there are incredible fight scenes, none better than the casino fight. Scola Dondo has done a video with the stunt coordinator Jonathan Eusebio and Martin Freeman’s stunt double Matt Emig, recreating the stunts from that very sequence. Scola dealt with it incredibly well, making it look super easy, which it is not.
The subtle colour commentary in post-production really sells it. Watch out for her inner monologue, really bringing the whole thing together.
I don’t masturbate, and thats OK | Embly
Emi Salida self-identifies as asexual and aromantic. And after discovering that, masturbation wasn’t something she felt was necessary to be happy and content.
This video is something that is super informative for people who are unaware of how being asexual works in regards to many facets of life. As the commenters enthusiastically asking for more reflect, there is a lack of asexual narratives in the world – so here’s to more from you, Emi!

Jimmy Hill takes us around his newly refurbished home in Episode Six of The House Files, showing us all what he’s done to create his cosy house. A beautiful job, Jimmy. The nosy ones amongst us really love looking at what people do with their houses, and this is a video that scratches that itch.
Niomi Smart went to the 2018 BAFTAs. This video follows her whole experience, from the makeup to the hair to the dress (which HAD POCKETS – revolutionary and necessary!). We are not at all jealous of you getting to go to the BAFTAs, Niomi, we promise!
In this video, Jean Menzies talks about a personal favourite genre of hers: the “modern classic”. Jean talks us through Penguin’s new range, and the passion that she has for the topic is super engaging.
Evan Edinger is American, for anyone who wasn’t aware. He has lived in our fair country for a while now, but is yet to assimilate with the way that dates are formatted. Is it 26/02/2018 or 02/26/2018? To be honest, Evan throws some good points at the argument. Make your own mind up here.
