It’s time to enter the world of The Rosewood Chronicles.
Let’s take a journey to Rosewood Hall where Ellie Wolf, Princess of Maradova, is set to start the school year. However, things aren’t as they seem, as roommate Lottie Pumpkin finds herself impersonating Ellie, so that the princess can lead the life of an ordinary teenager. From there, incidents of secret, intrigue, and betrayal occur, leaving Lottie in a situation she never could have imagined when she came to the famous school.
Have we piqued your interest? If so, then you sound like someone who will love Undercover Princess, the first book in The Rosewood Chronicles! Written by Connie Glynn, Undercover Princess is set to take readers on a magical ride like no other, leaving them hooked until the last page. We here at TenEighty are massive fans, which is why we felt it necessary to share some interesting facts about the book. So here they are: five things you need to know about Undercover Princess, complete with magic and whimsy!
1. If you like fairy tales, then you’ll love Undercover Princess
If you love getting lost in the likes of Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and Sleeping Beauty, then you’ll find yourself doing much the same with Undercover Princess. As a fairy tale lover herself, Connie has ensured the book (and the rest of the series) will sate the appetites of those of us looking for all the magic the tales from our childhood have to offer.
2. Most of the book was written while Connie’s leg was broken
Viewers of Connie will remember the traffic accident she was involved in last year, when a car ran her over. Now, anyone else might have sat in bed, binge-watching shows on Netflix and wallowing in the pain, but did Connie? Nope! Not only did she continue on with Vlogmas 2016, but she also spent the majority of the time she was cooped up writing Undercover Princess!
If that isn’t a strong work ethic, we don’t know what is.
3. It’s magical realism, and nothing is quite what it seems
We knew going into Undercover Princess that we’d be met with a world that was filled with fairytale magic and whimsy. Considering Connie is a fan of the likes of Harry Potter, My Little Pony, Steven Universe. and pretty much every cute and/or magical series on the planet, we knew she’d take inspiration and create her own magical world!
4. Yes, it’s gay
Connie has been very open about her sexuality both online and in real life, so does it come as any surprise that she would bring LGBTQ+ themes into The Rosewood Chronicles?
5. Undercover Princess is only the beginning
Yes, that’s right: Undercover Princess is only the first of five books in The Rosewood Chronicles, which means we’re still to be treated to four more! Honestly, we’re so glad the book isn’t a standalone because we become easily attached to characters, so we NEED to know what happens to Lottie, Ellie, and James next!
Connie, please don’t make us wait too long for the second instalment!
So there you have it…
