It’s been an “absolutely mind-blowing” few days for Emma Blackery…
It seems like just yesterday that we were watching Emma Blackery go viral for her hatred of Google+ (which is still iconic), but even by her current standards of sold-out tours, a new book, and an incredible EP, Emma had a fairly wild Tuesday night. Eagle-eyed viewers watching Apple’s launch for the iPhone X were quick to spot Emma’s EP Magnetised on the screen, alongside queen of pop Lorde. *cue thousands of messages from friends and fans exploding across the internet, as well as immortalisation through a Twitter Moment and a series of mainstream news articles*
Oh, and did we mention Paris Hilton followed her on Twitter? Even just one of those things happening would be enough to leave us completely shook.
Naturally, Emma was also SHOOK
I AM FUCKING SHOOK
OH MY GOD
NO I DIDNT KNOW THIS WOULD HAPPEN#AppleEvent
— Emma Blackery (@emmablackery) September 12, 2017
In a series of tweets, Emma responded to her sudden discovery that her album cover was the backdrop for the launch, and, naturally, her tweets were promptly quoted by NME. Emma’s response was adorable and funny as she confirmed she’d had no idea that Apple had chosen her album.
It’s brought her some new fans
@emmablackery Had to check your music out after the major appearance at #AppleEvent. Sounds great!!

Honestly, we wish we could experience Magnetised for the first time all over again. Welcome to the family!
Meanwhile, old fans were thrilled that more people were discovering Emma’s music
i so hope that the #AppleEvent2017 helps @emmablackery and her music get actually recognised. She deserves it! 😘

Since Emma doesn’t have a record label, exposure can be a little harder to come by, especially among people who aren’t YouTube-obsessed like us. Fortunately, the Apple event was watched by millions across the globe, and they’ve all just been introduced to Emma – something we’re super excited about!
Emma has also hinted she’d be open to a record label getting in touch with her, so watch this space…
Emma’s music is being shown in school
@emmablackery my media teacher just showed the apple event and then we listened to magnetised wtf I'm dying

We certainly wouldn’t have been adverse to a bit of Emma in our curriculum back when we were in secondary school.
A national holiday?
Can this be an annual "I'm proud of Emma Blackery" day?

Every day at TenEighty HQ is I’m Proud of Emma Blackery Day.
This really proves the power of the Internet

Not only does this tweet demonstrate the glorious glo up of Emma Blackery (*heart eyes*), but also the power YouTube now has in giving creators a platform for success, to the extent that even Apple are noticing Emma’s talent.
Some well-deserved congratulations
HOLY SHIT

Emma Blackery's song featured at the #AppleEvent. That's pretty cool as kid that grew up on the internet. pic.twitter.com/AUbLvQOVCV

Unsurprisingly, Emma’s supportive friends and fellow YouTubers were also freaking out. In fact, they’ve very well summarised just how excited and proud we are. Congratulations were in order from across the community.
“But you’d be so happy with me.”
Every time we listen to Magnetised from now on (a.k.a. everyday, multiple times a day), we’re going to get emotional remembering what a huge time this has been for Emma and her career. In the future history of Emma Blackery, we’re certain the Apple event is worthy of a whole series of chapters, both for its excitement and for the opportunities it’ll bring our girl. In both cases, we couldn’t be prouder!
