It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go…
Well, not really. There hasn’t really been much in the way of that fluffy white stuff that falls from the sky here in London. To be honest, we wouldn’t really know there was less than a month until Christmas if it weren’t for the shops playing Christmas carols instead of the “lovely” lift muzak that slowly kills our brain cells.
We’re only a few days away from the start of December, which means Vlogmas will soon be returning! We’re excited to see all the festive fun our faves will be getting up to. Until then, we present to you the last Round-Up before we overload you with Christmas videos for the next four weeks.
We hope you enjoy!
Hi, I’m Lucy – Lucy Moon
Starting off our Round-Up is an honest and informative video from Lucy Moon.
Hi, I’m Lucy is an open discussion about Lucy’s history with alcohol and how she’s decided to lead a sober life as a result. Seven days sober at the time she uploaded the video, Lucy is honest about her dislike for the person she becomes when drunk and how the relationships she’s lost because of it have pushed her to pursue a life where alcohol isn’t present. We know the journey won’t be an easy one, but we know she will be able to navigate the waters.
We commend Lucy for making this video, and we recommend you watch it if you or someone you love is having issues with alcoholism or alcohol addiction.
The Graveyard – Suli Breaks
You know when YouTubers tease something for what feels like forever? For us, that was Suli Breaks with this new spoken word poem, The Graveyard. Thankfully, it’s finally appeared in our sub boxes and it’s just as good as we thought it would be.
One of the most honest videos we’ve seen from Suli, The Graveyard discusses how we are killing our individuality and uniqueness by following the life path that society has deemed to be correct. Instead of following our passions, we’ve entered into a world where salaries dictate our happiness and how others perceive us. The corporate world has overtaken the creative one and, as a result, it’s killing us.
It’s a topic that really hits home and has left us questioning our motives in life and if the paths we’re currently on are leading us to where we want to go.
I Choose To See – DreamOnMaddie
Last week, the Thomson Reuters Foundation launched their latest campaign, I Choose To See, which aims to spread the word on topics the mainstream media has left underreported. One creator involved is Madeleine Drury, who has opted to discuss the Syrian Refugee Crisis.
Madeleine’s video highlights those who wish to welcome refugees into Britain with open arms, letting them know they have a home in the UK if they wish to accept it. She chooses to see the refugees as people, instead of news headlines in the papers or on TV.
It’s a powerful and informative video infused with creativity, and we definitely recommend you give it a watch.
i wrote this happy: a poem – Savannah Brown
Question: Is it possible for Savannah Brown to write a bad poem?
Answer: Hell no!
With her latest poem, Savannah questions whether or not her poetry is infused with enough pain for her to be considered a poet whose work will stand the test of time and be studied by those in the future, and if not, how much pain will she have to go through in order for it to do so? The question of how long our art will last is something every creative person struggles with, and it’s one that pushes us to keep on creating and opening ourselves up to the world.
Keep creating, Savannah, and you’ll leave a legacy.
The 1975 | Somebody Else | Cover – Cameron Sanderson
Closing up our Round-Up is the one and only Cameron Sanderson with his cover of The 1975’s Somebody Else.
We here at TenEighty are massive fans of The 1975, so we obviously get super stoked when we see our favourite creators covering their songs. We have to say, Cameron’s is one of our favourites, and it’s not just because he’s out busking on the street, sharing his passion for music with the world.
Want more? Well, why didn’t you say so!
Carrie Hope Fletcher has released yet another beautiful ukulele cover. Seriously, how is it possible for someone to be as talented as she is?!
Laura Bubble has made her triumphant return to YouTube with this super-relatable video about the spit. Don’t know what we’re talking about? Watch the video!
Bry recently finished the last leg of his tour with Twenty One Pilots, so he and Candice made this lovely little montage to remind us of just how awesome the tour was.
Do you ever just watch Evan Edinger‘s travel vlogs and wish you could visit all the exotic places he does? Well, that was us when we saw his trip to Yosemite. Hey Evan, want to take us with you next time?
