Carrie Hope Fletcher and Giovanna Fletcher will star in a musical adaptation of A Christmas Carol at the Lyceum Theatre in London on 19 December.
This will be Giovanna‘s professional concert debut, and she will be playing the role of Mrs Cratchit. Other cast members include Robert Lindsay as Scrooge, Madalena Alberto as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Hugh Maynard as the Ghost of Christmas Present, and Norman Bowman as Jacob Marley. The show will also feature the 32-piece London Musical Theatre Orchestra.
The production was first adapted by Alan Menken, Lynne Ahrens, and Mike Ockrent. and ran for ten years at the Paramount Theatre in New York’s Madison Square Garden. The December show will be the first time this adaptation has been performed in the UK.
The concert “aims to not only make orchestral performances accessible to brand new audiences, but also to bring the exciting repertoire of musical theatre to a more classical audience”.
