The event is described by Insomnia as: “the UK’s biggest celebration of gaming culture for over 14 years. Starting out as a small LAN [Local Area Network] party arranged between friends, Insomnia has grown into an event unlike any other in the UK; combining a thriving exhibition hall, the UK’s biggest LAN, large-scale eSports tournaments, special guests from across the spectrum of gaming media and more, Insomnia provides an exciting and engaging weekend’s worth of gaming fun and activities. Whether you want to bring your computer or console down for the whole weekend, or just visit for the day with your family, Insomnia provides the gaming experience you choose.”
Insomnia59 will offer attendees the chance to try the latest VR headsets, such as the Oculus Rift, Playstation VR, HTC Vive, and the much anticipated Microsoft HoloLens.
There will be team competitions for games such as Rocket League and Blizzard’s Overwatch with cash prizes available. Those attending can try out upcoming and latest releases, go to Twitch streamings, on-stage events, live Q&A panels and demos.
Tickets for Insomnia59 and events taking place over the weekend are available on the Insomnia website.
