It’s officially coats and scarves season…
The colder nights are moving in and the Pumpkin Spice Lattes are flowing. Luckily for us, transforming into a bed burrito is our speciality. Have we written about bed burritos before on TenEighty? We’re sure we have… anyway moving on.
It’s been a packed week of activities on YouTube. It feels like, now that the summer is officially over, people are investing their time in creating some quality content, and we’re ready to watch all of it. In fact, that’s exactly what we do here on the Weekly Round-Up. We watch as much YouTube as we can and serve you a portion of the best from the week! We’re good to you.
First Date Wedding Prank – Laura Bubble
Now before you click away because the video has the word prank in the title – hold your horses. Laura Bubble has shown the world how pranking should be done. Bouquet of flowers optional.
We don’t want to spoil the hilarious video for you – although it’s pretty obvious how people reacted to Laura turning up to a first date in a wedding dress. How would you react if this happened to you? We’d probably be really overly polite, make an excuse to dash to the loo, and phone a friend for some emergency advice. Nightmare!
YouTube Money: Merchandise – Tom Ridgewell
In the third instalment of his series YouTube Money, Tom Ridgewell is shining a light on YouTuber merchandise. If you’re a creator looking to sell merch, or an avid viewer who wants to get their head around how YouTubers make money, then watch on.
It’s great to see a popular creator talking as openly as Tom does in the video. Making money on YouTube has always been considered a bit of a taboo subject but this series has laid it all out in a way that anyone can understand. Even those pesky journalists who always ask how much vloggers earn.
Summer In The City 2016 – Official Video
For this video you’ll need to cast your mind back to August 2016. No killer clowns, no Honey G, and no increasing threat of Donald Trump becoming the next US president – it was a simpler time. Now, what were we talking about..?
The guys behind Summer in the City have launched their official video from the event and it’s filling us with memories from the summer. Just when we’d returned to our normal lives and got over the SitC blues. Can’t we go back and do it all over again? Oh well, only 297 days to go until the next one! Time to start the countdown.
Area 51 | Declassified – Alltime Conspiracies
If you’re like us, you love any opportunity to go down a rabbit hole. We’re conspiracy theorists through and through – so Alltime Conspiracies is our biggest guilty pleasure. Never seen their videos? You’re missing out – but you won’t regret watching and rethinking everything you thought you knew afterwards.
In this video, Robin explains the history of Area 51 and what it might really be used for. Are they testing secret weapons? Hiding extraterrestrial secrets? We are living for this video and if you’ve got a bit of time their back catalogue of videos is fascinating.
We made £187,571! – Louis Cole
On Saturday, creators from all corners of YouTube came together to Stand Up To Cancer with YouTube. Never without his camera, Louis Cole vlogged the whole thing and it was pretty amazing.
The live stream Louis vlogged is only part of the Stand Up To Cancer with YouTube campaign. Dan Howell and Phil Lester released a charity single, Doug Armstrong walked around London in his underwear, and Joe Sugg and Caspar Lee took part in a sponsored silence.
And if that wasn’t enough…
Luckily for you we’ve got a couple of other great videos from the last week. We really are the gift that keeps on giving. You’re welcome.
Our favourite science buff Charlie McDonnell has unveiled the trailer for Fun Science: The Series. It features cameos from Jack Howard, Hazel Hayes, Khyan Mansley, Lex Croucher, Sam Saffold-Geri, and Dodie Clark. Amaze.
Guess who’s back? It’s Russell Brand. The Trews is back with a vengeance, and this time Russell has got his sights set on Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
Finally, if you haven’t already seen our article on the charity single by Dan Howell and Phil Lester for Stand Up To Cancer with YouTube – the video is here and it’s EVERYTHING. There are no words. Except maybe ASDFGHJKL.
