Yes, you read that title correctly.
Look at your pet. Now look at YouTube.
Look at your pet again. Now back to YouTube.
Finding it hard to spot the difference? Well, maybe not… But did you know there’s a whole corner of the internet dedicated to finding the animal twins of some of YouTube’s most popular creators? Look deep enough into Twitter and you’ll come across accounts pairing up YouTuber selfies with photos of the cutest cats and dogs you’ll ever see.
We asked Hannah Witton how some of this beautiful madness began. “Lauren [Aquilina, my housemate] was on my show on FUBAR Radio a couple weeks ago,” she explained, “and we talked about this account called @LozAqAsCats that posts pictures of her next to similar pictures of cats on air. Then during the show one of the listeners made @wittonascats and started posting similar images.”
When Riyadh Khalaf and Daniel J. Layton appeared on the show over the following weeks, more accounts began to pop up, and we’ve decided that these glorious pairings need to be shared with the world (that’s how much we love them). So if you’re looking for a good chuckle and a way to brighten up your Twitter feed, look no further.
Let the cuteness overload begin!

Starting off our list is Hannah’s account, and seriously, who would have thought she’d have such similarities to our lovely feline friends? Well, the creator of @wittonascats thought so, and boy, are we glad they did.
One look at this account and you’ll be wishing you had one made after you!
Dodie Clark as Kittens
— dodie as cats (@dodieaskittens) May 23, 2016
Dodie is already adorable, but pair her with cats and baby kittens and we just can’t even! Dodie’s fans are some of the most dedicated and sweetest on all of YouTube (it’s been scientifically proven), and @dodieaskittens is just further evidence of this.
Also, in case you were wondering, there are indeed photos of kittens playing ukuleles and they’re just as cute as you’d imagine they’d be.
Daniel J. Layton as Dogs

— dan as dogs (@laytonasdogs) September 7, 2016
@laytonasdogs is a new account to grace the Twittersphere, and while it’s currently as small as a chihuahua, it’s still barking mad. We have a load of favourites (seriously, they’re all so good), but we have to say the best comparison is this beautiful throwback to the wild days of Dan’s youth.
Honestly, we see no difference.
Melanie Murphy as Dogs
— Melanie As Dogs (@MelanieAsDogs) September 3, 2016
As the bio states, “Two of the best things in the world, Melanie and dogs,” and we couldn’t agree more!
Sassy, smiley and fun-loving, @MelanieAsDogs somehow always manages to find the perfect puppies to match with Melanie’s glamorous selfies. So definitely check it out if you’re looking for a bit of sunshine in your life.
Riyadh Khalaf as Dogs

— riyadh as dogs (@RiyadhAsDogs) September 2, 2016
Ever thought Riyadh had beautiful, puppy-dog-like eyes? Well, so did we, and apparently the creator of @RiyadhAsDogs agrees.
Somehow, they’ve managed to match Riyadh up with the cutest puppy pictures around (just look at all the fluffiness!), and usually they’re spot on. Don’t believe us? Just look at the match they made of his selfie with Orange is the New Black‘s Laverne Cox.
Dan and Phil as Dogs
— dan and phil as dogs (@danandphildogs) November 30, 2015
To the great dismay of the Phandom (and us, if we’re being honest), Dan Howell and Phil Lester have yet to adopt a dog. However, that hasn’t stopped a loyal fan from creating @danandphilasdogs, and curating adorable photos with pinpoint precision. The account’s so accurate that even Dan’s a self-confessed fan. That’s how you know it’s good.
The verdict?
We asked Hannah what she thinks, and she said: “I just find the whole thing hilarious!”
We totally agree – we love whoever is running these accounts. They’re doing a great service to the internet and we can’t thank them enough.
However, we do have a bone to pick with Hannah, who told us she feels “indifferent toward cats and dogs”. For shame, Witton. For shame.
Surprise! Onto the bonus round…
— troye as soup (@troyeassoup) March 29, 2016
Ever notice that Troye Sivan‘s aesthetic is beautiful, flawless and… somehow mouth-wateringly delicious? Well, you’re not alone. Let us introduce you to @troyeassoup. You’re welcome.
It’s truly a gem from the internet gods – it’s so good that Troye himself is a fan. How big a fan, you ask? Well, during one of his concerts, Troye read aloud from fan book titled Troye’s Fans as Soup.
