YouTubers Do Suicide Squad Premiere

What do you get when you bring together Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Will Smith, and Cara Delevingne?

You get Suicide Squad, the most anticipated film release of the summer! We can’t tell tell you how long we’ve awaited the film’s premiere – seriously, we jotted it down in our calendar months ago! It’s no secret that superheroes have pretty much taken over Hollywood, but what about the villains? We’ve been wondering when it would be their time to shine. Well, that time is now, as we once again jump into the DC Comics universe and meet the likes of Harley Quinn, Enchantress, Deadshot and, of course, the Joker.

Loads of our YouTube faves graced the red pink carpet at the film’s London premiere and left many of us green with envy (get it, because the Joker’s hair is green). Looking stylish and ready to fight Batman at a moment’s notice, they were able to watch the film before any of us, all while sharing the same space as its stars! We’re not going to lie, we were super jealous.

Of course, they made sure to post about the evening’s events on social media, just so we didn’t feel too left out. So hey, at least we were able to live vicariously through them. However, we wouldn’t say no to an invite next time.

Some took the “edgy” dress code quite literally…

Tom, we love you and all, but we feel you might have taken the whole “edgy” thing a bit too literally. But hey, we are loving the hat! Where can we get one?

The question is, did anyone take up Paul on his offer?

We never knew how much we wanted this look to return before we saw Paul Neafcy‘s tweet.

There had better be photo evidence of someone rocking this look at the premiere. We’ll be boycotting the film if there isn’t.

Grace wins Best Outfit of the Night

While everyone was dressed to impress on Wednesday night, we feel Grace Mandeville‘s look takes home all the awards. Seriously, if her look wasn’t considered edgy, then we don’t know what was!

OMG!!!

Seriously, how did those lads over at The Lean Machines manage to keep their cool! We probably would have fainted if we’d been in the same place as Batman himself. Either that, or we would have embarrassed ourselves to the point of wanting to faint. One of the two.

So. Many. Squad. Goals.

One thing we know will always happen at premieres is that our faves will be out with their squads, showing traditional media just how cool the online community is.

So. Many.

The other thing we know is that we’ll be staring at our computer screens with tears in our eyes, wishing we were cool enough to friends with them.

Can we all be BFFs with Will Smith?

Niki, we’d say that breathing the same air as Will Smith automatically makes you ten times cooler. However, you’d get even more cool points if you had managed to take a selfie with him.

And the verdict is…

Overall, the film has received mixed reviews from both critics and our YouTube pals. I guess the only way to tell if we’ll like it is to go see it ourselves, which works in our favour. We’ve needed an excuse to have another TenEighty HQ outing, and the cinema seems like the ideal place to go. Not only will we be treated to some awesome action sequences, but we also won’t have to deal with unnecessary chitter-chatter and can be the antisocial hermits we are.

Sounds perfect, if you ask us.

What did you think of Suicide Squad?

Was it the movie you were hoping it to be or did it fall flat? Also, who was your favourite character? We’re tempted to say Harley Quinn because, just as Amelia said, Margot Robbie is a great talent, but we’re also leaning toward Enchantress. Two-thirds of us at the office feel that Cara Delevingne would totally be that one friend who’s a total badass and could make you laugh no matter what, and we need someone like that in our lives.
