Calling all TenEighty readers and internet dwellers!
We’re assuming you’re reading this because you’re charging your phone between Pokémon walks and, to be honest, we don’t blame you. There are Pikachus to catch, Gyms to conquer, and Pokéstops to, well, stop at.
But if you want to be the very best like no one ever was, you need to take a break every so often to recharge and watch a few YouTube videos, and what better place to do so than through your favourite YouTube magazine (and yes, that’s obviously us).
YouTube was booming with content this week – so much so that it was nearly impossible to choose just five to feature – but luckily for you, we were eventually able to narrow down our picks. We know you’re going to love them.
Interview With My 5 Year Old – SprinkleofGlitter
Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. We can’t cope with the amount of cuteness in this video.
We’re not quite sure when Louise Pentland‘s daughter Darcy turned into a five-year-old (it feels like just yesterday she was the cute little baby who was stealing our hearts), but she’s definitely becoming a very wise little lady, and possibly a future pro vlogger!
We definitely weren’t expecting this video to be such a rollercoaster of emotions either, with lamentations about not being a child forever and revelations about the language spoken in Northamptonshire (it’s body language, in cause you were wondering). Either way, we think Darcy might be our new fave. Scratch that, she definitely is.
Am I Good In Bed? – Rose Ellen Dix
When we started sifting through our sub box, we didn’t expect to be staring so intently at anyone’s nostrils, yet here we are: staring intently at Rose Dix‘s nostrils. It’s not weird, we promise!
You see, Rosie Spaughton has devised a slightly ingenious lie detector and has been putting it to the test with A LOT of questions. Trust us, you’ll learn a lot about the pair’s marriage.
Now, has anyone got a mirror? We need to study our own faces to check what we do when we’re lying that our makeup’s okay. Gotta make sure we look super fresh, after all.
Steven Tries Street Shows! – StevenBridges
We’re used to Steven Bridges wowing us with his magic skills, but this week he’s done something a bit different and taken us behind the scenes as he tries out street shows for the first time, and let us tell you, it’s not just a case of walking up and performing!
From what we learned, the performer politics alone sound like something out of a sitcom (consider this our vote for street performer stories, Steven), but we really admire Steven’s motivation to keep going. And if you happen to be anywhere near Leicester Square in London, you should definitely go and find Steven. Think of it like Where’s Wally?, but with Steven Bridges.
Tell him we sent you.
Coming Home – Angela Innes
Since it’s the start of summer holidays, there are a lot of homecomings to look forward to, whether that’s a homecoming from university at the end of term as you yell “FREEDOM!” to the heavens or coming home from a holiday in the sunshine (or a holiday from the sunshine, if you’ve been rapidly melting in London, like us).
Angela Innes has captured that coming-home feeling very nicely in this little spoken word/time lapse video, and it’s oddly mesmerising to watch the unpacking and tidying, even if we’re getting slight nagging feelings of guilt that our rooms are nowhere near that neat and organised. Tell us your secrets, Angela!
Pokemon Go Starter Guide! – RageNineteen
Yes, we’re still playing Pokémon GO. No, we still haven’t managed to catch them all.
Luckily for us, Jamie Spicer-Lewis has made this totally legit and not at all satirical starter guide to the game that has seemingly taken over the world, made everyone Pokémon zombies, drained our phone batteries and data, and made us actually leave the house (we know, we can’t believe it either). Seriously, we need new shoes because our old ones have holes in the soles from walking so much. Those 10km eggs won’t hatch themselves.
Aaaand… we’re off again.
Still need a distraction from the hundredth Pidgey you’ve seen in the last hour? We feel you.
Carrie Hope Fletcher‘s new book was released last week and to celebrate, Pete Bucknall threw her the sweetest surprise party. Warning: this video will give you ALL the feels. Congrats, Carrie!
Lauren Mae made a fantastic video about body confidence with the help of a few friends, and it’s well worth a watch – especially if you’ve ever felt a little insecure.
Dodie Clark teamed up with Jon Cozart for a performance of her original song, Human. Seriously, Dodie, why are you so perf?
Netflix and Chill is so 2015. It’s all about that Netflix and Still, amiright Emma Blackery and Jack Dean?
