The team behind Summer in the City have announced that an award ceremony will be part of their 2016 event.
For the first time, the Summer in the City event will feature awards for which fans can nominate their favourite YouTubers.

On their website, Summer in the City have said: “Here at SitC we are proud to celebrate the fantastic creators that inhabit the online world, and the incredible work they create.”
The seven award categories are:
- Vlogger of the Year
- YouTuber Book of the Year
- YouTuber Song of the Year
- YouTuber Series of the Year
- Short Film of the Year
- Community Spirit Award
- Breakthrough Award
The three most popular nominations in each category will be entered into a shortlist, along with two wildcards selected by the Summer in the City team, and winners will be announced on the event’s main stage on Sunday 14 August at 6pm.
Those wishing to nominate creators for the awards can do so on Summer in the City’s website.
