TenEighty have announced the launch of a Patreon page.
Co-Editors Teoh Lander-Boyce and Alex Brinnand made the Patreon announcement in a YouTube video on Thursday 14 July.
The video, which encourages people to pledge money to support the growth of TenEighty, features YouTubers including previous cover stars Charlie McDonnell, Bethan Leadley, and Suli Breaks, as well as Melanie Murphy, Lucy Moon, Evan Edinger, Jazza John, Laurbubble, Chloe Dungate, and Sammy Paul.
“It has been great to have support from so many YouTubers,” Alex comments. “The fact that we already have the YouTube community behind what we’re trying to do is a huge morale boost and Patreon will allow us to take it to the next level.”
Among the goals listed on the Patreon page are a monthly TenEighty Lite 12-page digital download, a podcast featuring YouTubers, and a quarterly full physical magazine.
“We’ve been running TenEighty for just over two years now, with a massive team of volunteers, and we’re very proud of how far we’ve come,” says Teoh. “Now we’re growing an additional arm of supporters who can give us feedback, join in on the big discussions and help us launch bold projects. I’m excited!”
Rewards for supporting TenEighty include early access to features and photos before they are published, a subscription to the physical magazine and collaborative Google Hangouts with the Co-Editors. Reward tiers range between $1 and $50.
“If you’re not able to support financially right now, that’s fine too!” the Patreon page reads. “Keep reading and sharing, there’s lots more to come.”
