How is it halfway through July already?!
Seriously, we feel as if this year is speeding by! We only just finished with Vlune and now we’ve got VEDJ left, right, and centre… and then before we know it, it’ll be Summer in the City. Then Halloween. Then Vlogmas. We can’t cope!
Let’s calm down with some videos, shall we?
Dear YouTubers, We Need To Talk – MyNamesChai
We’ve all been shocked by the news from America in recent weeks, so we’re very pleased that Chai Cameron has made this video encouraging other YouTubers to speak up and voice their opinions a little more.
We’ve long been aware of the power of Team Internet, so hopefully if more people speak about important issues – even just for one video – we can make a real difference.
I Will Follow You Into The Dark | Cover – Chris Osmoe
You know when you’re minding your own business, just going about your day, then someone comes along and hits you with a large slice of 2005 nostalgia? Because that’s what we’re about to do, with a bit of help from Chris Osmoe.
Let’s put it this way: 2005 was probably the year of questionable haircuts and fashion choices for most of Team TenEighty, but this cover has almost made us nostalgic for our style choices of yesteryear.
Almost.
It Says Gullible On The Ceiling – NotJustBlonde
Whist we’re on the topic of nostalgia, Zannah Perrins has been doing quite a bit of thinking about all the things she believed when she was little, and all the stories she was told that probably weren’t quite true. From panthers to bear, portals to alternate universes, there’s quite a hefty amount of imagination going on here!
Of course, none of us at TenEighty HQ are remotely gullible, and there are definitely no stories that we were told as kids that weren’t true. Especially not the haunted cupboard in our Year Four classroom. That was definitely real…
Why I Don’t Write A Diary Anymore – MusicalBethan
Writing a diary has become a bit of thing recently – they seem to have made a bit of a comeback (and have hopefully progressed from the diaries we wrote as teens). Bethan Leadley tried the whole writing-a-diary thing, and decided it wasn’t for her.
Our reasons for stopping writing diaries seem to be more along the lines of forgetting, losing them, or getting stuck in a Netflix binge. Bethan’s reasons are a bit better than that. And there’s a silver lining of daily vlogs, so y’know, we’re not complaining.
Artificial Happiness – Cameron Sanderson
You know those people who can take almost anything and turn it into a song? Well, it turns out that Cameron Sanderson is one of those people. Except, it’s not just anything, per se – more suggestions from his Twitter followers for lyrics, which turned out to be pretty darn good.
Using what can only be described as musical wizardry, Cameron turned all their suggestions into a very chilled out song that’s probably just what you need on this Monday evening.
Good, eh?
Want more videos? Sorry, that’s your loss…
Joking, of course! We’re not that cruel.
It seems Luke Cutforth has been thinking a lot about idioms whilst he’s been making films. That is, if his latest video is anything to go by!
Bry and Candice O’Reilly have moved to England (welcome!) and took us on a little tour of their new house. We’ll be over for tea soon, guys! We take a splash of milk, no sugar.
Dan Bull‘s channel turned ten years old this week, and he celebrated by doing a bit of a throwback to his first videos. Congrats, Dan! Here’s to ten more!
