Joe Sugg is currently working on the sequel to his debut graphic novel.
The followup to Username: Evie, which will be called Username: Regenerated, is set for release on 22 September.
So glad and happy that you're excited for #UsernameRegenerated 😁 it's all very surreal and I'm so ready for round 2! ☺️

As with Joe‘s first novel, Username: Regenerated will be a collaborative effort between Joe, writer Matt Whyman, illustrator Amrit Birdi, and art team Joaquin Pereyra and Mindy Lopkin.
Username: Evie was the fastest-selling graphic novel since records began, as reported by The Bookseller. The novel was also shortlisted for Children’s Book of the Year by the British Book Industry awards.
Username: Regenerated will find Evie desperate to return to the world of e.scape, but the app that transports her has been corrupted. In an attempt to help, Lionel will open up a series of revelations that call into question everything Evie treasures in life.
‘’I’m so grateful to be given the chance to continue this series,” said Joe. “This time I’ve evolved the storyline and delved further into the characters and I’m excited to see what everyone thinks of it. I hope everyone enjoys it and it encourages more people to read!”
Briony Gowlett, Editorial Director at publishers Hodder & Stoughton, has said: “I couldn’t be more excited to be working with Joe on his second book in this Username series. Joe has boundless energy and enthusiasm for everything he does, but in creating graphic novels he has found the perfect way to show off what an imaginative storyteller he is.”
Joe announced the sequel in a video, which begins with him entering the novel’s virtual world after launching the application on his desktop:
Joe explains in the video what we can expect from the sequel, saying: “You can expect a lot more depth into the characters. We’ve found out a lot more about the characters, you get to know them a lot better, and we may even learn about some new characters […] And secondly, the storyline for this one, I’d say is a little bit longer, a little bit darker maybe.”
Three pages of the upcoming novel have been shared on WHSmith’s blog, which show Evie pining for her life in virtual world, e.scape.
It has been announced that Joe will be holding a series of events to promote the novel, but dates are yet to be confirmed.
Username: Regenerated is currently available for pre-order on Amazon, with a limited number of signed copies available from WHSmith and Tesco.
