It’s Monday, which means a few things:
- We can’t snooze our alarms ten times because it’s no longer the weekend. *sigh*
- We wish we could snooze our alarms ten times.
- No, setting the alarm for an earlier time does not count.
- It’s okay, because our first task of the day is putting together a list of some of our favourite videos from the past week, which isn’t really a bad way to start the week when you think about it.
Basically, what we’re trying to say is that every cloud has a silver lining, and that silver lining is right here. Enjoy!
Why Should We Stay In The EU? – Tyrannosauruslexxx
What better way to start your week than with good slice of politics, amiright?! No, but seriously, we’re quickly counting down the days until we decide whether to stay in the EU or stay. So it’s best we start thinking about how we’re going to vote.
If you’re still undecided, Lex Croucher has her own reasons for why we should stay (spoiler alert: some are possibly more legit than others…). But, of course, we at TenEighty encourage you to do your own research, make your own decision and make sure you’re registered to vote!
Light – Dan Stokes
Is there a word for “we were sitting here, casually watching YouTube, when the Mark Gatiss popped up in Dan Stokes‘ latest video”? Because so far, all we’ve got is “WHAT?” and “asdfljkdfj”. Well, technically, that last one isn’t even a word, but y’know… how else do you respond to such an appearance?!
Dan, how could you have Mark Gatiss on set and not invite us? Don’t you know how much of a national treasure he is? We promise we would have behaved, honest. We’re only slightly obsessed with Sherlock and Doctor Who… if “slightly” actually means “completely”.
Okay, but seriously, we highly recommend that you go and give this video a watch because it’s very nicely made indeed.
Meghan Trainor – Me Too (Parody) – Philip Green
If there’s one thing you need to know about us TenEighty folk, it’s that we secretly love a good parody. And by “secretly”, we mean “not at all secretly”. We just love a good parody. Enter in Meghan Trainor… *ahem* we mean Philip Green.
Impressionist and parody-maker extraordinaire Philip was on Britain’s Got Talent back in 2013, but fast-forward three years and he’s now one of the winners of YouTube NextUp 2016. Basically, Philip is fab.
Go watch. You’ll laugh. We promise.
We All Just Wanna Be Famous – Antworld
Fame and talent and the connection between the two are things that are often talked/shouted about, and it’s always interesting to hear opinions. Conveniently for us (good segue there, eh?), there’s been a bit of a chat about this going on in our YouTube sub boxes.
We found this video from Ant really interesting – there’s lots of very good points made and lots to think about. It’s all in response to a video about Humbleness on YouTube by Angela Innes, which is equally as interesting.
P.S. YouTube, we still miss video responses. Can someone please create a petition to bring them back?
The Eternal Intern – Guy Larsen
Another day, another kids’-book-that’s-definitely-not-for-kids-but-is-oh-so-painfully-true from Guy Larsen. Or KBTDNFKBIOSPT for short. Actually, on second thought, we might need to work on that acronym; KBTDNFKBIOSPT isn’t necessarily the catchiest…
Last time Guy made one of these videos, he took on Donald Trump’s hair, and this time, he’s taking on internships. But you probably guessed that from the title… The artwork and words for this video series are all done by Guy, and this one features a voiceover from our fave, Sammy Paul. What more reason do you need to watch?
Still Monday? Yeah, we know. Oh well, onto more videos!
If you’re in the midst of exam revision, Emily Victoria-Canham has made a super helpful video with some exam season tips. Who said watching YouTube during exam time wasn’t helpful?
Last week, we were treated to Pete & Gary Week over on Pete Bucknall and Gary C‘s channels! It’s basically like Christmas, but with Pete and Gary videos. It was hard to choose, but we think our fave is this improv song challenge. Which one was yours?
Grace and Amelia Mandeville have graced us with another of their story time videos, and this one’s a little bit unbelievable! Also, no need to tell us. We know our puns put Evan Edinger to shame.
And finally, Calum McSwiggan has turned 26 (happy birthday, bae) and has made this lovely video about nostalgia and growing up. And in case you missed it, he recently spoke to us about a docu-film about his experience with depression, which we think you should check out as well!
