Felix Kjelberg has been named by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in 2016.
Felix was placed in the Pioneers category by Trey Parker, co-creator of South Park. Trey referred to Felix as “the pied piper of YouTube”, saying: “He has turned passive gaming into active, enjoyable entertainment.” The pair previously collaborated on an episode of South Park called #REHASH.
Trey also added: “I know it might seem weird, especially to those of us from an older generation, that people would spend so much time watching someone else play video games. […] But I choose to see it as the birth of a new art form. And I don’t think anyone should underestimate its most powerful artist.”

Felix is joined in the category by Caitlyn Jenner, Aziz Anzari, Palmer Luckey, and many more. You can find the full list on Time‘s website.
This isn’t the first list Felix has been a part of this year. In January, he was named among the most influential people on the internet by Time. He was later listed as one of Forbes‘s “30 under 30 in Europe”.
The reaction to this latest news has been extremely positive, with congratulations from fellow YouTube gamers and creators.
