Right, you lot, own up. Who was fooled by a pesky April Fools’ prank this week?
We weren’t, of course, we’re no fools (at least, not in that sense). But we are secretly a little bit gutted that YouTube’s annual April Fools’ “announcement” wasn’t real. I mean, imagine if you really could watch any video you want with Snoop Dogg?
ANYWAY. No more silliness, it’s all totally serious from here on in. No, really. What do you take us for, amateurs?
Don’t Go Alone – Bry
Can you believe it’s been TWO YEARS since Bry last released new music? Nope, us neither. Two years is a long time to keep us waiting!
It’s all well worth it when you see this very snazzy video for his new single Don’t Go Alone, though. It’s just as catchy as his other songs, but with a video filmed in a blimmin’ AIRCRAFT HANGAR, no less. And if this new song doesn’t make you want to go and see him on his UK and Ireland tour then, quite frankly, we don’t know what will.
Anthology of Anything – ladyioan
If you told us we’d be watching a vlog featuring a three-legged dog, an omelette, and a baby this week, we’d think you were playing some sort of bizarre April Fools’ prank on us, but lo and behold here we are, watching a vlog featuring a three-legged dog, an omelette, and a baby.
That probably doesn’t make much sense to you right now, so we recommend you just have a watch of Ioan Morgan-Jones‘s video, and all will be clear. Now, excuse us while we go and buy a scrapbook.
Why We Argue – Helen Anderson
We are big admirers of Helen Anderson‘s honesty in her vlogs, and her willingness to show the side of her relationship that isn’t necessarily perfect. And with that in mind, we are big fans of this video in which she discusses candidly with her audience the reasons why she argues with her fiancée Matthew.
The video is inspired by a similar video by another of our fave couples, Bry and Candice O’Reilly, and we’re hoping that this caries on to inspire a new trend, dispelling the myth that good relationships mean being picture-perfect all the time.
What Makes Me Film – Bethshake
It’s always interesting to hear what inspires creativity, whether it comes from someone at the height of their professional career or from someone who is just starting out.
This very aesthetically pleasing video from Bethany Jeffries walks us through what inspires her to film, and how she films her videos. We’re looking forward to seeing more of Beth’s work as she develops as a filmmaker.
Laces – Fee
We’re doing that thing where we start with a song and end with a song again, because who doesn’t like coming full circle? (Plus it makes it look like we know what we’re doing…)
This little beauty from Felix is making us want to go on walks in the countryside (OUTSIDE, what??) while singing along to the abundance of dos. And yes, “an abundance of dos” is the official term, we checked the description!
Still need more videos to help you get over the Day of Distrust aka April 1?
Fine, we feel ya!
Oli White has been making us jealous by learning to dive with Tom Daley. Yep. Actually learning to dive with Tom Daley. We’re fine. Honestly, no, we’re fine.
Raphael Gomes updated us on his spring morning routine, with a bit of an expectations vs reality twist. We’ve all felt that “no milk for my cereal” pain…
And finally, both Khyan Mansley and Tim Hautekiet have released their trailers for their latest short films as part of Incubator 3. Tim’s is called Hacks, while Khyan’s is The Ministry. Watch this space for more info!
