Tom Fletcher will be releasing the children’s book The Christmasaurus on 6 October.
The Christmasaurus will be a book aimed at older children, and is Tom Fletcher’s first novel. He has previously written six children’s books with McFly bandmate Dougie Poynter, which make up The Dinosaur That Pooped series.
An announcement video was played at the Penguin Random House sales conference. Tom was unable to attend in person due to his wife Giovanna Fletcher going into labour with their second son, Buddy.
In his video, Tom said: “The Christmasaurus is a story about a boy called William Trundle, and a dinosaur, the Christmasaurus, and how they meet one Christmas Eve and have a magical adventure. It’s about families and friendships, Santa and sleigh bells, singing elves and flying reindeer, music and magic. It’s about discovering your heart’s true desire.”
There has been positive reaction to the book so far on Twitter, including tweets from his sister Carrie Hope Fletcher, wife Giovanna, and YouTuber Zoe Sugg.
