Valentine’s Day has been and gone, and so with that in mind there’s only one place you’ll find us.
Braving the outside world and this terrible cold weather (come on winter, make way for spring already) to buy up ALL the discount Valentine’s chocolate we can get our hands on. So that we can then sit cocooned in our nice warm beds for the rest of the week and watch as many videos as possible, so we can keep on bringing you these Round-Ups. Does that sound good to you? Because it sounds darn good to us.
Going Through a Breakup – Laurbubble
What do you do when live gives you lemons? Trade ’em for an onion, and use it for a prop in your new video, of course! Enter Laurbubble, who has done JUST that, producing a video which is very much on point for anyone going through a breakup. We’re glad we’re not the only ones who stick faces onto broomsticks to feel less… lonely… errrr… we mean what a strange thing to do, we’ve never seen anything like it before.
*cough*
ANYWAY, Laura, we’ll be over soon for some beef bourguignon (we most certainly did not have to google the spelling of that). We’ll bring the chocolate!
You & I | One Direction Cover – ChipDaddyTV
Every so often, just as we think we know who all the singers are, someone else pops up with an unexpected cover video! This time, it was Jamie Cottrell who decided to hit us with a very Valentines-y One Direction cover, complete with snazzy music video. We’re used to Jamie’s comedy videos and the occasional musical parody, so this was a very nice surprise indeed to find in our subscription boxes. Here’s hoping he’s got a few more up his sleeve.
I Photoshop My Pictures? – Scola Dondo
The social media vs reality debate has been very much in the spotlight lately, and at every turn we seem to be hearing new opinions on it. Here, health and fitness YouTuber Scola Dondo has made a great video in which she openly admits to having edited images in the past, and explains the thought process behind it.
We’re definitely in agreement with the idea that your social media images should look like you, so we’re really pleased to hear someone speaking out and saying that they won’t be editing their posts, but instead showing a more real version of them.
January – Monthly Scrapbook – Matt Amys
These days, the start of a new year marks the start of a new set of Monthly Scrapbook videos, and we are super impressed with Matt Amys‘s January instalment. Here you’ll find yoghurt-based fitness parties, a fair few birthday parties, and a very much #NSFW ice sculpture, all edited together with just the requisite amount of wit.
At 22 minutes long, this is the perfect video to grab a cup of tea, put your feet up and just procrastinate a little with. It is half term, after all.
Mr Brightside – The Killers (cover) – Chlowaiii
Ooh, this is a little bit lovely. To some of us, Mr Brightside will always be that bleary-eyed, end of the party moment. You know, that last song that everyone’s singing loudly along to before everyone goes off home?
Well, this is far from that. Chloe Gasson‘s stripped it back, then added a generous handful of gorgeous harmonies and a splash of pinky-purpley lighting to give us ALL the feelings. We definitely approve.
Run out of chocolate and need more videos to fill the void? We’ve got you covered!
Lucky, lucky Hazel Hayes went along to the BAFTAs and managed to bag herself an interview with the one and only Stephen Fry. We’re not jealous, honestly.
Rebecca Brown talked about the difficulties of combining dating and trichotillomania, especially when it comes to online dating, in this very personal vlog.
And finally, put your headphones in for some VERY NSFW storytime from Daniel J Layton and Ciaran OBrien. We cringed and laughed in equal measure, and, well, we’ll never look at edible glitter in the same way again. Just sayin’.
