Beauty vlogger Zoella will be the first female from the UK to receive YouTube’s diamond play button.
YouTube announced the play button at VidCon 2015 for creators who have reached 10 million subscribers.
Hitting the 10 million mark on 30 January, Zoe Sugg is the second YouTuber from the UK to reach the milestone figure, following Olajide ‘KSI’ Olatunji.
Excluding VEVO accounts, YouTube trends, and TV shows, she is also the third female vlogger with over 10 million subscribers worldwide according to Social Blade, after Jenna ‘Marbles’ Mourey and Mariand Castrejon.
Zoe tweeted out that she was “so emotional” and that the occasion meant “the world” to her:
