YouTube couple Rosie Spaughton and Rose Ellen Dix’s wedding video has had its audio restored after it was removed earlier this week for featuring Shake It Off during their first dance.
Taking to Twitter to voice their initial confusion, the couple explained that the entire audio from the video – not just the section featuring the Taylor Swift song – had been muted.

Rosie went on to explain the couple remain aware of copyright laws however felt that in this case the complete removal was inappropriate.

Her original comments have now been retweeted nearly 6000 times, sparking debate in the Twitter community that reached far beyond the UK.

Reactions were mixed, with a lot of people misunderstanding the situation and believing that the couple had actually lost the wedding video entirely rather than just the audio.
However the majority were in complete agreement that the audio removal was unfair and began tweeting Taylor and her management, as well as expressing their anger.
@RoxeteraRibbons you shouldn't have to beg to get your wedding vows back. That's just heartless.

@RoxeteraRibbons @BigMachine @taylorswift13 I'm sure if Taylor knew about this she'd be so upset. Working to get it on her radar. (:

Despite everything, the couple and their followers remained optimistic and light-hearted as they attempted to contact the singer.

Thankfully, after several days of Tweeting, the audio has now been completely restored. The power of social media, eh? (Skip to 20 mins in for the first dance.)
