The YouTuber’s first graphic novel, Username: Evie, was launched on 15 September.
In an announcement video posted back in February, Joe said the idea for writing the novel “hit me right in the nostalgia”, as he has been writing comics and graphic novels since he was a teenager and had even created a trailer for one of them during his A Levels.
Joe worked on the graphic novel with the help of author Matt Wyman, as well as an illustrator. It tells the story of Evie, a girl who feels isolated at school until she discovers popularity within a world inside an app.
When speaking about the book, publisher Hodder & Stoughton had this to say: “[It] will be an immersive adventure, but will also touch upon many of the issues that his fans face every day.”
