We’re from the UK so we’re obliged to reference the weather at some point during this: SUN. THERE IS ACTUAL SUN.
We mean IRL, in the outside world, you know? But what are we saying, that’s not what TenEighty is about. We’re all about remaining inside to avoid the sun glare hitting our laptop screen, staying near the kitchen for regular trips to get tea and most of all avoiding any exercise that may be the result of moving to an outdoor space. Ew.
What delights have made it into this week’s Round-Up? Music covers, dating, online abuse and some brutal honesty about the summer months. What a mix!
Where Are U Now – Skrillex Diplo Ft Justin Bieber Remix Cover – Shaun Reynolds
We’re seriously loving this cover from Shaun Reynolds (and a couple of very talented friends) – and don’t worry, Justin Bieber is nowhere in sight.
The video is super slick and they generally look very, very cool. Keyboards, iPads, flashing lights and lots of hand movements, they’ve got it all (it’s actually very similar to TenEighty HQ… lol jk, we wish.)
There’s no denying that these guys are far cooler than we’ll ever be. Witness the greatness above.
Summer Expectations Vs Reality 2015 – Joe Weller
You know those summer “goals” you’ve been researching on Instagram and preparing to recreate over the next few months to make your life seem awesome? Forget it. Joe Weller is here to spit the truth on what the warmest time of the year is actually like.
From lads thinking they’re hench to nagging parents, Mr. Weller takes us on a journey that also includes that special moment when half of the human population brave seawater around the UK and find their willies shrinking to a microscopic level. TMI? Soz.
Joe also does a flawless impression of a woman that was so convincing it was only towards the end of the video that we realised the bright green thing on top of his head WASN’T hair(?!)
TYPES OF PEOPLE ON DATES – HollyLolly999
The introductory minute of this video is quite something. It just goes on and on and we can’t even begin to describe everything that happens.
Following this, Holly explores the various different people you meet when dating. Is this based on her own experiences? Has Holly been each of these people? We don’t know and we haven’t asked.
Memo to self: don’t confuse the words ‘evacuation’ and ‘ejaculate’.
Drinking Buddies | Etch-a-Sketch – Fawn Mead
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Fawn Mead upload anything, but now she’s back with this highly accurate take on how various different beverages like to have fun with you.
All of the usual suspects are included with a few exotic additions that we think – from Fawn’s portrayal, and assuming it to be based on her previous experiences – might be best to avoid.
We mean the Absinthe. Never drink Absinthe. Please. It’s nothing like Moulin Rouge and it usually ends in barfing. OK, so WE might be the ones talking from experience now.
BRITISH CIS-BOY TRIES ONLINE ABUSE! – jonbehere
We’re easy pleased at TenEighty HQ. We’re pretty chill and like a lot of things. Things we don’t like so much, though, include haters. In this video, our fave Jon Aitken reviews some comments on the recent Vanity Fair cover by our other fave Caitlyn Jenner. We’ve all been there, Jon – lost our temper in the comments section and rage quit.
This video manages to show how far we’ve come, while also highlighting just how far we still have to go. Try not to get distracted by the comments featured, this video is important and we’re grateful Jon is continuing the discussion – even if he doesn’t have all the answers yet.
Some extras for your peepers!
We haven’t seen the new Jurassic Park film yet but we expect it doesn’t feature intimate interviews with the dinosaurs themselves. A poor effort. Thankfully, Frances Morrow-Brown has leapt upon this niche with gusto.
Calum McSwiggan is sustaining us as we plough through June, with a whole month of collab videos. Check out ‘In The Closet’ featuring a very familiar face (and a whole load of sass).
Speaking of sass, here’s a video of Benjamin Cook facing up to his online haters, all the while encouraged by Niki and Sammy Albon. And just for clarity – you don’t look like a convict, Ben.
