YouTube will launch a video app for children on Monday, according to USA Today.
The app will be called YouTube Kids and will feature specifically curated content that is suitable for children.
It’s thought the app will focus on television content from providers like Peppa Pig, Thomas The Tank Engine and Jim Henson Company, but family-friendly YouTube channels will also feature.
YouTube product manager Shimrit Ben-Yair told USA Today: “Parents were constantly asking us, can you make YouTube a better place for our kids.”
He said consumption of family entertainment was growing four times faster than other video on YouTube.
YouTube Kids will be officially revealed on 23 February and will only be available on Android devices at first.
