The social media app is currently testing out a new way to showcase suggested accounts to follow.
Social Media Today is reporting that the new format would appear on users’ main feeds, below any new posts. This differs from the current suggested listings section, which appears either after the first new post or at random after someone follows a new account.

Confirming in a statement, Instagram said:
“If you’re in the test, this is shown after you see all the posts in your Feed. Once you get the ‘You’re All Caught Up’ notice and scroll past it, you have the option to see suggested posts or go back to older posts that you’ve already viewed.”
As mentioned in the statement, the suggested feed will only appear once users have scrolled through all new posts from the accounts they follow. They’ll then have the option to look through the suggestions or view previously-seen posts.
Instagram is currently trialing the new format with a handful of users. As such, there is not yet a timeline for a full rollout, if there are plans for one to occur.
