Jeffree Star has revealed his new palette which is called Cremated.
Jeffree Star unveiled the palette on his social media channels on Friday 15 May 2020.
“Introducing the cremated eyeshadow palette & collection!”, Jeffree said on Twitter. “This one of a kind spooky 24 pan gothic dream will wake up the makeup world! The FULL reveal video will be on my channel TOMORROW morning! Get ready to be deceased.”
In a recent video, Jeffree explained that his new makeup collection had originally been postponed due to the ongoing global pandemic. He commented: “The follow-up was going to be so fun, and then the coronavirus has come and it’s f****d up everyone’s plans.”
The palette name has received criticism on social media for being considered insensitive in light of the global COVID-19 pandemic which has killed over 80,000 US citizens to date.

However, others have referenced the date on which the trademark for the new palette was filed. The wordmark ‘cremated’ was trademarked on 27 September 2019 and is owned by Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Inc.
“People complaining about the name of the new Jeffree Star collection, it’s not that deep. Yes we’re in a pandemic but he named it forever ago and can’t change packaging in a moment’s notice”, one user said on Twitter.
Some fans, however, have commented that even with the trademark Jeffree should have considered renaming the palette or releasing it at a later date.
Another commented: “When I first saw the name I felt like it was kinda disrespectful because of everyone that had corona and died from it has to get cremated even if they wanted a proper funeral. But overall I think it’s gonna be a great palette”.
The cremated palette will be available to pre-order on the Jeffree Star Cosmetics website.
