Kinda Funny‘s Greg Miller is set to release a short story set in the DC Comics universe.
DC Comics is commemorating its most popular villain, The Joker, with its All New Tales of the Clown Prince of Crime. The release will be a compendium of short, non-canon stories about the double Oscar winning character.
One of the stories will be written by internet personality and podcaster, Greg Miller.
The opportunity to write the store came from Miller’s working relationship with Rogue: One: A Star Wars Story and The Book of Eli writer, Gary Whitta. After being approached by DC to be a part of the release, Whitta decided to bring Greg on board, saying:
“I’ve always wanted to do something in the DC universe. I’m a big DC fan, but I’m not as big a fan as Greg. I needed the hardcore, super duper fan who really, really knows the lore at a DNA, genetic level, and that’s [him].”
In a video uploaded to the Kinda Funny YouTube channel, the pair explained how the story came to be and share two pages, without any spoilers. They also share that the art was done by Dan Mora, who has worked on the Power Rangers and Batgirl, amongst other books.
The comic will arrive in stores and online on 9 June. Those wishing to pre-order can find their local comic shop via DC Comics’ Comic Shop Tracker.
