The issue lead YouTube channel pages to Error 404.
Some users in the UK and Europe began reporting problems accessing YouTube channel pages on Friday 8 May.
When a user tried to access a channel page, they were presented with the error message: “This page isn’t available. Sorry about that. Try searching for something else.”
Website status detector Down Detector saw a spike in website traffic problems at 2pm BST on 8 May 2020.
“YouTube isn’t working. I can’t even access my own channel.”, one user said in the discussion section of the website.
The detector site has reported thousands of user submissions about the error in countries including the UK, France, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands.
“YouTube down in Europe, i can’t live now”, one Twitter user commented about the outage. “Gotta love it when you starting setting up for a livestream and the YouTube servers go down”, said another.

YouTube has not issued a statement about the issue.
Update 15:24 8 May 2020: Reports of the issue have significantly reduced and for many the error has now been resolved.
