We’re not going to talk about coronavirus in this article.
It feels as though we can’t escape news and talk of the current COVID-19 pandemic, and while it is good to be informed, it can be a bit overwhelming. That’s why we’re giving you permission to forget about the virus for a few minutes. That’s right, we’re allowing you a short reprieve in the form of Tweets of the Week.
While we’re aware you’ve probably seen the majority – if not all – of these tweets, as we’re all stuck at home due to the nation’s lockdown, we felt the following selection needed to be further highlighted. These are the tweets we found ourselves returning to numerous times over the past week, and we hope they’re able to instil in you the same joy we felt. (We 100% know they will.)
Let’s jump into it!
We need to date someone who can cook all the foods
I need to date a boy who can cook 🧑🏼🍳 I’m tired of postmating every meal
— James Charles (@jamescharles) April 29, 2020
We’re with you, James Charles. We need to find a partner who can cook all our favourite foods! We mean, we could probably cook them ourselves, but we’re just too lazy to do so.
Could this year get any worse?!
WHO DID IT?!
WHO THE FUCK HAD THE AUDACITY TO SAY, “Well at least 2020 doesn’t have a MURDER HORNET PROBLEM” OUT LOUD?!?! pic.twitter.com/3JnKZ6UbOo
— Philip DeFranco (@PhillyD) May 2, 2020
We seriously think 2020 is just here to mess with our heads. We thought dealing with the coronavirus was bad enough, but now murderous hornets are on the move?! Thankfully, they haven’t yet made their way to the UK – and we hope they never do!
Internet = life
Life without internet is fucking shit, pass it on.
— Calfreezy (@Calfreezy) May 3, 2020
We think this is something we can all agree upon, Callum Airey. What would we do without the internet? (Answer: absolutely nothing…)
The panic is real
I have never once managed to start the washing machine without immediately panicking that my phone is somehow inside it
— Chloe Dungate (@ScarfDemon) May 2, 2020
We thought we were the only ones, Chloe Dungate! We can’t even begin to tell you how many times we’ve thought we threw our phone in the wash, only to realise 10 minutes later that it’s been in our back pocket the entire time.
Brotherly love
Grayson just asked if he could dye my hair pink and I said ok then he got mad that I agreed so easily. Now he doesn’t wanna do it anymore
— Ethan Dolan (@EthanDolan) May 1, 2020
We don’t think there’s a better example of the sibling dynamic than this tweet from Ethan Dolan. We have to admit, we often find ourselves basing what we do on how enthusiastic our siblings are – the less enthusiastic, the better!
That one movie
does anyone else have those films they they love soooo much that they would give anything to remove it from their memory to get the feeling of watching it for the first time again?🎥
mine would probably be the avengers: infinity war & endgame. both cinematic masterpieces✨
— sam ☁️ (@saamcarr) May 3, 2020
Ugh, we feel this hardcore, Sam Carr. Our choice would either be The Dark Knight or Black Panther. Such stellar movies – we wish we could relive the first time we ever saw them!
Major flex
Knowing what memeulous looks like is my biggest flex idc
— kiera (@Kierabridget) April 28, 2020
We’re honestly pretty jealous of this, Kiera Bridget.
We hate to say this, but you’re wrong
the top 5 best sums in the times tables:
1. 12×12
2. all of the 10 times table
3. the 5 times table but only the even ones
4. 11×9
5. 2×2— taha (@KhanStopMe) May 3, 2020
We’re sorry, Taha Khan, but how did you come to this conclusion? Everyone knows that the top five sums in the times tables are as follows:
- 5×5
- The one times table
- 10×10
- The zero times table (because everything equals zero!)
- 2×2 (we’ll concede that this is an all-around stellar sum)
Our one wish
more than anything, the spell i wish i could do is "accio"
— dodie (@doddleoddle) April 29, 2020
Knowing how to cast the Accio spell would make our lives so much easier, dodie. We’d never have to get up!
A walking pillow
I’m pretty sure my dog thinks I’m just walking pillow at the moment
— Emily Canham (@EmilyCanham) May 1, 2020
OMG, our dog thinks the same thing, Emily Canham! We want to get up, but we don’t want to disturb their sleep – they just look soooooo cute!
