The feature is currently in development.
Facebook has revealed that it’s currently working on developing and implementing a dark mode feature for its iOS app, following the news that it was also building one for its Android version.
News of the feature follows it becoming available on the Facebook’s desktop site, as well as on Messenger and Instagram.
While both apps feature a background that’s completely blacked out, the actual Facebook app will have a grayscale background with white accents around any icons and logos.
Those wishing to switch to dark mode will be able to do so by accessing their settings. From there, they’ll be able to choose when it’s enabled: always or based on their phone’s settings.
While the feature is reported to have been in development since the summer, a public release date has not been formally announced. It should be noted that it’s currently not available in beta.
